This two storey structure K-5 was originally built in 1989 (2,350.4m²), and additional classrooms built in1994(628.6m²) Total area of permanent construction is 2,979m². A grouping of seven portables (free standing) at the north side of the school includes six classrooms. An additional,stand-alone portable is used for the music program. The total area of all the portables is 755m². The combined area of permanent and portables is 3,734m². A staff of 40 serves 447 kindergarten to Grade 5 students.

General Summary:

Structural Summary:OWSJ's and steel beams on concrete piles with steel decking and reinforced concrete floor slab. The roof is OWSJ's andsteel beams with steel decking on steel columns and reinforced concrete block walls. Overall the structure is in good condition.

Envelope Summary:Masonry and stucco exterior walls with metal flashing and stucco fascia. Insulated metal doors with pressed steelframes and double glazing. Aluminum framed windows with sealed double glazing. Standing seam metal roof with builtup bituminous roofing above mezzanine. Overall the envelope is in good condition.

Interior Summary:Gyproc and concrete block walls with paint finish. Linoleum and carpet flooring with hardwood in gymnasium. Solidcore wood doors with pressed steel frame. Single glazing windows with aluminum frames. Sliding glass store frontdoors, manual operation. Assorted plywood millwork with laminate countertops. Overall interior is in good condition.

Mechanical Summary:The building is heated and ventilated by natural gas fired furnaces. Domestic hot water is supplied by a natural gasfired water heater. The water closets are flush tank and the urinals are wall hung flush valve. The lavatories in thestudent washrooms are stainless steel counter mounted and the staff areas are enameled steel counter mounted. The mechanical systems are in acceptable condition.

A large plaza utilizing unit pavers isincorporated at front of school yard. Wood signage identifies the building at south entrance. Playground facilities on northeast corner as well as an open field to the west exist for recreation including a concrete paved pad and basketball nets oneast side of site. Floor Plans: This two storey structure was originally built in 1989. It houses classrooms and support services for elementary schoolchildren from K-V. An addition in 1994 added 6 classrooms at the north end of the school. A grouping of seven portables (free standing) at the north side of the school includes six classrooms.
