THIBAULT SORRET

It is with absolute pleasure, that I write this open letter of recommendation at Thibault’s request. As Head of School, having been directly involved with International Education for just on three decades around the globe, Thibault is truly one of the very special individuals, of the many, whom I have mentored. Thibault’s natural intelligence (academic and social), sharp sense of humor, enthusiastic and positive outlook on life and his personal future, places him into a very special category. He is far more mature than his chronological age, and his natural attributes makes him a wonderful unquestionable leader amongst his peers.

Thibault is multilingual, extremely well read, has a natural entrepreneurship inclination, involved in all aspects of school life, and is an excellent sportsman. Besides the full IB Diploma, with its CAS component, etc., Thibault has undertaken a variety of unique projects. Some as charity fundraisers while others as a personal challenge. He has written and published a remarkable guidebook to help students to manage their academic schedules with the prospect of improving their grades. One of his latest projects has been organizing and facilitating a TED X YOUTH conference at our school, with local and international speakers contributing.

All of the above is besides his Rugby captaincy, extensive world travel with his family, his commitment to his academic studies, and following a very healthy lifestyle. After all is said and done, I believe that this handsome young man is truly destined to make significant changes in the real world situation within his field of interest and future studies. He reminds me of many of my ex-students who have graduated from the likes of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Duke, Princeton, etc. In Thibault’s case, it is his sublime character and personality, merged with his good nature, intelligence and passion for life and learning, that truly makes his candidature unique.

Thibault comes from a loving and very stable home environment. His parents have allowed him to be highly independent in his choices and decision making, as his formative years were extremely solid. He is an independent thinker, has compassion and empathy for those less fortunate, and is a “rock” of support to his close friends and peers.
