Where We’re Going In Math we will be wrapping up our Probability unit and then working on Patterns in Number and Geometry. Students will explore concepts learned early in the year (in our Number Patterns unit) and apply them to geometric patterns. In Language we are now making connections to texts. There are three types of connections; text-to-self, text-to-text, and text-to-world. Students will use this comprehension strategy to relate to what they are reading, helping them understand texts on a more meaningful level. We’ve been learning a lot about animal habitats. Students have researched an animal, written an informational text, presented a speech, and are now building a website dedicated to their animal. Our field trip to Mountsberg Conservation Area will be a great way to celebrate and enjoy some outdoor learning. Students participated in MSB’s High Five for Health week last week, taking part in many types of activities, from Yoga to Zumba. In Health class they are creating healthy menus and will be writing and recording commercials to broadcast their healthy message.
