recreation, Significance of leisure in modern societies, Critical review of major writingsin the field with attention to particular special problem areas and current issues.
Unit II: Critical Issues in Recreation Management
Public administrative functions in large complex organizational structures, understandingof change and evolution in leisure service agencies as related to the internal and external
environments, management styles and situations in leisure service agencies, growth of
careers in recreational marketing.
Unit III: Marketing in Recreation, Sport and Tourism
Quality service issues and service strategies to attain competitive advantage across leisureindustries, customer-focused management framework, customer satisfaction and
retention, linking service quality, customer lifetime value, profitability segmentation,
services mapping, understanding customer expectations and developing service andcustomer-focused relationship marketing strategies.
Unit IV: Event and Facility Management
Understanding of the theoretical models and business principles, initial planning and
feasibility studies to organizational structure, successful planning, promotion,
implementation and evaluation of special events within the context of recreation, sportand tourism, personnel managers in leisure service agencies
Unit V: Finance and Budgeting
Serves as a comprehensive study in the financing of leisure organizations, the budgeting
process, revenue generation, expenditure, management, and other issues faced by suchentities, potential strategies that organizations use to cope with the unique concerns.
Unit: Advanced Leisure Research Methods
Conducting and evaluating leisure research; experimental and survey designs and procedures; and data collection, reduction and analysis, global concerns in recreation,
sport and tourism, analytical approach to strategic and organizational change, knowledge base to positively impact organizations.
