Principal’s Report: Jacaranda Village:
Last Thursday morning grade
3/4 staff and students were
thrilled to host a visit from
some elders from Jacaranda
Village.
The elders decided they wanted
to visit our school as a thank
you to our grade 3/4 students
for regularly visiting Jacaranda
Village this year.
Our visitors listened to the
students sing a number of
songs before they sang a song
for the students.
The elders had a tour of the
school before enjoying a lovely
morning tea.
Well done kids!

Aussie Of The Month:
Congratulations to Janaya
Sheahan, Red Cliffs Primary
School’s Aussie of the Month for
November.
Janaya has been a great Calder
House Captain. She is very
helpful to all students and has
been a fantastic leader with the
infant students practicing their
dance for the concert.
She is always bright, friendly and
cheerful. Well done Janaya!
Beer Cup:
Last Thursday grade 5/6
students travelled to Irymple
Primary School to play cricket
and netball with the aim of
securing the “Beer Cup”
Trophy.
Our students were sensational.
The boys won the cricket match
decisively while the girls just lost
the netball-meaning that the
“Beer Cup” remains at Irymple
Primary.
NB: The trophy is called the
“Beer Cup” because there is
another Mr Beer at Irymple P.S...
Have a great week!

Sunsmart—Myths About
Sun Protection:
2—People with olive skin are not at risk of skin cancer. FALSE
People with olive skin can get skin cancer too. Re-gardless of skin type, expo-sure to UV radiation from the sun and other artificial sources, such as solariums, can cause skin to be per-manently damaged. Peo-ple with skin types that are less likely to burn can still receive enough UV exposure to risk develop-ing skin cancer. Generally when skin cancers do occur, they are detected at a later, more dangerous stage. Care still needs to be taken in the sun.
