The two sailing clubs organise the yearly Fowey Regatta Week with yachts and dinghies racing both in the harbour and in St Austell Bay, culminating with the spectacle of the Falmouth Working Boat Harbour Race, the Red Arrows and an excellent fireworks display. During the week there are also many land based activities for children and adults. Fowey also hosts the Daphne Du Maurier Festival and the nearby Boconnoc Estate is the setting for a grand flower show during the spring. Other attractions in the area include the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the world famous Eden Project.
