At first when I read this assignment, I couldn’t believe I had to write essentially a movie already this early in the class. Not only is this my first time doing anything remotely close to this type of project but I never had experience with dealing with movies other than watching them. In fact, I was quiet worried I could not com e up with a good movie plot since I have not seen a real good plot driven movie in a long time. So I gave it some thought, and at first I wanted to do a funny story with comical characters. I came up with characters and a plot with a conflict. However, after I brainstormed all of this, the movie came up to be very similar to the movie Hangover. Because of its similarities, I did not use this plot and I tried to change it up, but I was definitely have a hard time doing so. I tried to change up the characters and the things they do which I ultimately had to change the conflict. This was done the first night and I stopped there. At first when I read this assignment, I couldn’t believe I had to write essentially a movie

already this early in the class. Not only is this my first time doing anything remotely close to this

type of project but I never had experience with dealing with movies other than watching them. In

fact, I was quiet worried I could not com e up with a good movie plot since I have not seen a

real good plot driven movie in a long time.

So I gave it some thought, and at first I wanted to do a funny story with comical

characters. I came up with characters and a plot with a conflict. However, after I brainstormed

all of this, the movie came up to be very similar to the movie Hangover. Because of its

similarities, I did not use this plot and I tried to change it up, but I was definitely have a hard

time doing so. I tried to change up the characters and the things they do which I ultimately had

to change the conflict. This was done the first night and I stopped there.

On Tuesday, I was reading through the plot and I just thought that this plot was not

working and that it had to be improved. This is when I decided to completely start over my story.

Instead of making this a comical story, I wanted it to be serious. I thought of all the serious

movies I’ve seen. By far a few of the most intense, serious movies I seen are Bourne Identity,

the Departed, Wall Street, and Saving Private Ryan. I wanted to write a script that would have

all of these elements in it plus with a twist.

I started off with something gang-related and I wanted to tie that in with one’s personal

success in the financial world with involvement with organized crime. That’s why I wanted to

have a feel-good plot within a mafia-orientated plot. With Marzano, a young hard working

individual from the slums of New York and is eventually brain-washed by Wall-Street’s I’ll-

Take-On-the-World mentality and ultimately resorts to organized crime to help him succeed in

Wall-Street’s evermore cut throat world.
