Svaty Jur has got a large potential in many �elds and mostly in �elds related to. Buildings such as old historical wine houses or cellars are an essen-tial element of the town and its history, but the town provides hotels, restau-rants, etc. as well. These places have a large potential, because they are situat-ed in the town centre and have genius loci. Not a long time ago, infocentrum with wide range of potentional activities and the ViNOCENTRUM were opened there. The historical context and many abandoned buildings are the reason why we have decided not to build a self centred large object above the town , that would take over the functions that should be in the town , but to create something, that would support the typical features and habits of the location.

Respecting the integrity and relations to the town, there is a continua-tion of the nature trail on the north. It leads to the top of the location from where we can enjoy a wide view to the landscape (vineyards, town of Svaty Jur, Bratislava and old forest). This place is considered as the goal of the walk in vineyards. From there we can continue our trip to the castle in the forest or walk back to the town through the historic gate where the circle ends.

Making just a small object which is connected to the town allows us to keep the topography of the landscape and its typical shapes that were made by cultivating the land. Natural topography and the potential of the venue meet at this point. The design of new objects is as simple as possible in contrast with the irregularity of nature. Two new objects are simple blocks which open the view axis from west to east at the town of Svaty Jur and make connection between vineyards and town.

The construction will merge with the landscape and will be a space for people in the nature. This space is designed as a meeting place for local people, relax for tourists, view point and shelter, but occasionally it can be transformed to the space for performances, wine tastings, teambuildings or as summer cinema.

The old vineyard house is reconstructed and used as a weekend house for small group or a family. House o�ers place for sleeping for 4 people and their few days stay with experience of night in vineyard. It is ideal for tourists or week-end with family.

New entrance opens the view axis from west to east and it is an indication of something behind. The view through this gate focuses at the second portal, which frames the town centre. This entrance is designed as a gate and refers to the gate to the town on Letohradska street.

VINEYARD HOUSE sleepover for group/family

Land cultivation is typical for local vineyards. In the past people had to cultivate the land if they wanted to make it fertile. As a refer-ence to this activity a new connection "Way of land" was build . This path is experienced by feet and begins with concrete threshold that tells you to start to perceive. The next phase is a stone path which descends and then in the form of fertile soil slightly goes up again. This refers to the relocation of stones and soil fertilization.
