TOURSAfternoon walking tours will be led by developers and local stakeholders. All delegates can pick one tour from the options below, your delegate badge will indicate which tour you have been allocated to. If you have not been allocated a tour, but would like to go on one, please contact staff at the reception desk.
Tours will leave from the registration desk in the foyer at 13:30. All tours are on foot, please wear sensible footwear. Please have your coats and bags ready as we will not be returning to Tottenham Town Hall.
This tour will focus on the major transport improvements currently underway for Tottenham Hale and will look at what this means for public realm in the area. Following a short walk (15 minutes) from Tottenham Town Hall to Tottenham Hale, there will be onsite updates from both Landolt + Brown and Allies and Morrison. With the surrounding housing schemes already being delivered, this tour will then move on to Hale Village with a tour of the scheme from BDP. On the way to the final stop, N17 Design Studio, the group will also look at the Green Link.

To reach Northumberland Park this tour will involve a short coach journey. On arrival at Northumberland Park, Fletcher Priest will provide a project update on the strategic framework there before the group is led to White Hart Lane and the surrounding regeneration taking place at the SPURS stadium. Arup and S333 will provide insight into the High Road West masterplan as the group walks back to the High Road. This route will also incorporate an update on the integrated social programmes in this area before arriving at N17 Design Studio.

Following an onsite overview of Tottenham Town Hall and Isobel Place courtesy of BPTW, this tour will go to Apex House and hear from Grainger before walking along West Green Road to look at the number of interventions happening there, such as Tom Ebdon’s pocket park. The Lawrence Square development will be a focus before the group heads back to Tottenham Green via Philip Lane. At the green, Adams and Sutherland will talk through their involvement in the public realm. On the way to N17 Design Studio the group will be able to hear about the High Road shop fronts project also.

Chris Hall Director, GVA
Chris is a Director with GVA – A Bilfinger Real Estate company. Chris provides advice relating to planning and regeneration, and brings 20 years of experience to his assignments. His experience includes masterplanning, investment frameworks, development feasibility, spatial planning, strategy, policy planning, and stakeholder and community engagement. He has directed multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of large-scale regeneration schemes for regional growth areas, city regions, city centres, town centres and waterfronts; neighbourhood improvement plans, estate redevelopment masterplans and the re-use of brownfield sites. He draws on significant experience in London and the South East and also in the United States. @GVAViews
Robert Evans Partner, Argent
Robert joined Argent Group PLC in 2001 and became an Executive Director in 2004. In 2012 he became a founding Partner of Argent (Property Development) Services LLP. He has overall responsibility for Argent’s residential projects and also oversees communications and public affairs. He is also one of the Partners charged with seeking out and securing new development opportunities. He has led the planning work at King’s Cross since 2001 and sits on the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership Board. Robert has also been involved in Argent projects in Manchester and the Thames Valley. @ArgentLLP
Anthony Benson
Director, Allies & Morrison Urban Practitioners
Anthony specialises in managing the production of planning and development frameworks for town centres and regeneration areas. He has overseen much of the practice’s statutory planning work and has led multi-disciplinary teams during the production of Area Action Plans for Enfield, Barnet and Lewisham councils. Anthony joined the practice in 2004, having spent the preceding nine years in a number of planning authority roles across London and the south east. Anthony is a qualified planner and urban designer and a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute. @alliesmorrison
Richard Blakeway
Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property, GLA
Richard is responsible for overseeing the Mayor’s statutory housing powers. This includes the Mayor’s statutory housing strategy, £3 billion of investment and around 600 hectares of land, including the regeneration of London’s Royal Docks, following the transfer of functions and assets from the London Homes and Communities Agency and the London Development Agency to the GLA. Sophie Camburn Associate - Urban Design, Arup
Sophie is an Associate in Arup’s Urbanism and Landscape team where she leads integrated multidisciplinary teams on a range of masterplanning and urban design projects, including Arup’s Tottenham Physical Development Framework and High Road West Masterplan commissions. Sophie brings an inclusive understanding of the social, economic and spatial aspects of regeneration to masterplanning and has a passion for making better places for communities with a focus on the delivery and viability of schemes with sustainable placemaking at their core. @ArupGroup
Michèle Dix CBE Managing Director of Crossrail 2, TfL
Michèle has led TfL’s strategic thinking on the future transport needs of London, testing and challenging solutions; providing clear direction on appropriate transport solutions for the future; responsible for the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and transport requirements for the Mayor’s 2050 Infrastructure Plan; coordinating the implementation of local plans and borough partnerships; and developing major scheme interchanges. Michèle is now responsible for developing Crossrail 2 and gaining funding and powers for it. Michele is a visiting professor for UCL and is chair of an international committee PRESCOM for the UITP which promotes public transport research and best practice globally. @TfL

Peter Murray
Chairman, New London Architecture
Peter serves as the Chairman of NLA. Trained as an architect, he was an editor of Building Design and RIBA Journal before starting Blueprint in 1983. He has curated a number of major architectural exhibitions and is Chairman of the communications consultancy Wordsearch. He is founder of both NLA and the London Festival of Architecture and is author of various architectural books including “The saga of Sydney Opera House” and “A passion to build”. He is a visiting professor of IE University in Madrid and Hon. Sec. of the Bedford Park Society. @PGSMurray
Cllr Alan Strickland Cabinet Member for Housing & Regeneration, LB Haringey
Alan has been a Haringey councillor representing Noel Park since 2010 and is the council’s Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration. In this role Alan has spearheaded the council’s Tottenham regeneration programme and chaired the Tottenham Taskforce. Alan has worked hard to build links between the council and key partners, including The Prince’s Charities. Alan’s professional background is in the voluntary sector where he has worked for a number of national charities. Alan’s board experience includes time as vice-chair of Alexandra Palace and Park Trust, a trustee of The Conservation Volunteers and chair of an award winning social enterprise. @haringeycouncil
Andy Rumfitt
Director of Economic Development, AECOM
A Senior Director at AECOM, Andy has more than 20 years’ experience examining the dynamics of growth in local, sub-regional and regional economies. With a strong interest in the economic impact of transport and infrastructure projects, he has worked with many clients including LEPs, TfL, DLR, RDAs, Local Authorities and the GLA. Andy is Project Director for AECOM’s land use, economic impact and masterplanning work for the Crossrail 2 project for TfL.@AndyRumfitt
Aidan Potter
Director, John McAslan + Partners
Aidan is a Board Director at John McAslan + Partners and one of the founding directors. He has worked on many of the practice’s major national and international projects and leads the practice’s extensive portfolio in Russia. The redevelopment of the historic Stanislavsky Factory in Moscow was the first project in Russia to win an International RIBA Award, and Aidan is currently leading the redevelopment of the Bolshevik Factory in Moscow. Aidan is also the director responsible for the N17 Design Studio initiative in Tottenham. @JohnMcAslan
David Walters Development Director, Grainger Plc
David is responsible for acquiring, structuring and bringing forward London and Southeast schemes on behalf of Grainger directly, and innovative residential led development projects with private and public sector partners. He has 10 years’ experience of working with a broad range of people and across all aspects of the life cycle to residential property. In addition to the sourcing of innovative partnerships, he has led the structuring of new residential delivery models to create ‘the place’, a broad mix of tenures, long term value and the integration of long term management into design. @grainger
Nick Walkley Chief Executive, LB Haringey
Nick has been Chief Executive at the London Borough of Haringey since January 2013. Before joining Haringey Nick was Chief Executive at neighbouring Barnet Council where he has also been Director of Resources.
