YOUTH MASS
This weekend we celebrate, for the first time, our Youth Mass on Sat-urday evening at 6:00pm at St Bernardine’s Church. Thank you to all our young people and Florence our youth worker for the planning and preparation for this Mass and for bringing a new style of ener-gy into our liturgical celebrations! COMMEMORATION OF THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED
November is the month when the Church commemorates those who have departed this life. There will be a Prayer Vigil for the Faithful Departed on Tuesday 30 October at St Bernardine’s Church. All are welcome to attend. You are invited to let us know of any new names you wish to add to the Book of the Departed by taking home one of the forms available from this weekend at each of the Churches and submit it to the parish office by Sunday 21st October 2018. PARISH RETREAT DAY AT SANTA TERESA 2018
There will be a Parish Retreat Day held at Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre, 267 Wellington St, Ormiston On Saturday 1st December from 9am-4pm. There will be a cost of $30 per person which ( in-cludes a lunch box and baked morning tea) If you are interested in coming along please contact the parish office ASAP to secure a spot. Bookings and payment is essential 7 days prior to the day. Depending on the amount of interest there is in this reflection day, will determine whether the parish books this session. If we do have the numbers it might be worth organising to car pool with someone else who is going.

Place the order form in the sealed envelope provided and leave it on the collection plate at any Mass, which will be returned to the parish office. If you order a book after this date the full cost will be $22 online.
Parish Book for the names of the souls departedDuring the 30 days of November, we remember our deceased rel-atives and friends at all Masses. Many names have now been in-scribed in our book and we pray for those named each year. You are invited to let us know of any book by taking home one of the forms available from this week-end at each of the Churches. Please print the name clearly, and place the completed form on any collection plate by: October, 2017 scribed by the end of October.

PARISH HOSPITALITY & SOCIAL EVENTS Hospitality after Mass St Catherine’s and Our Lady of the Assumption Church’s communities have a cuppa every 1st Sunday of the month after Mass. Please bring a plate to share. Every fourth Sunday of the month at St Bernardine’s Church there will be a morning tea after Mass. All are welcome please bring a plate to share. And if you have anytime to spare the ladies could always do with some help.
CLEO LADIES DINNER - ( Catholic ladies eating out ) A Group of ladies who meet every 1st Wednesday of the month, providing an opportunity for ladies in our community to meet informally in a friendly, supportive group. Everyone is welcome, especially new faces. FIFTIES PLUS GROUP– Fifties Plus Group will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10am. Please contact Trish on Ph. 38008686 for more information. Bring a plate and share dinner together, play some games, watch a video, chat and pray. YEAR OF YOUTH RETREAT DAY Date: Saturday 27 October Time: All Day Time for some quiet prayer and reflection at Santa Te-resa Spirituality Centre, Ormiston. The day is made available at no cost by Archbishop Mark Coleridge. Contact parish office for bookings. YOUTH MASS Date: Saturday 10th November Time: 6:00pm Every Second Saturday in the month @ St Bernardine’s Church. Celebrate the Eucharist with your friend’s and enjoy fellowship over a hotdog.

PLEANERY COUNCIL SESSION 2018 We need to hear your voice You are invited to share your thoughts and ideas about the future of the Catholic Church in Australia. Come along to a Listening and Dialogue session in the parish on Sunday 4th No-vember from 10:15am to noon. The session will be facilitated by Rob Cosgrove from Evangelisation Brisbane and will be a highly participative and engaging process. There will be time for prayer, to reflect on the question ‘What do you think God is asking of us in Australia at this time?’, to speak boldly and with passion and to listen with an open and humble heart. All submis-sions will be uploaded to the Plenary Council website.
