Lack of international harmony in telemetry frequencies and the absence of national allocations specific to aeronautical
telemetry is a risk area of some magnitude. WRC-2007 will consider future allocations. (para 31f)
Telemetry is a vital function for military research, testing, training and exercises. Absence of harmonised telemetry
frequencies has important interoperability consequences.(para 67)

Spectrum Management Strategy
Released June 2004.Telemetry bandwidth requirements are expanding. WRC-07 will consider allocations for mobile wideband aeronautical telemetry and telecommand in the 3–30 GHz band.
Strategy
The Department of Defence will:
• retain the need for telemetry in the L and S bands; and
• work with the international telemetry community and national regulatory bodies to identify suitable harmonised telemetry assignments in the SHF band.

UAV Spectrum Working Group is now being promoted under the leadership of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and the Australian Research Centre for Aerospace Automation (ARCAA).
First meeting was held 23rd February 2006.
