Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) is an organisation funded by the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Hope University, LIPA and Liverpool Community College. Our aim is to offer a wide choice and to help all students in Liverpool to find good quality private accommodation.
The service has been recognised in the city as being one of the main driving factors in improving standards in student accommodation.
THE LSH STANDARDSThe LSH Standards are a set of property requirements that your accommodation will need to meet in order to advertise your accommodation with us. These Standards set us apart from letting agents and other accommodation providers.
A copy of the LSH Standards is enclosed in this pack. Please read them carefully to be sure your property complies before registering.
We advertise a whole range of accommodation:
Large city developments Traditional houses Self-contained flats/studios Room vacancies in shared properties Short-term accommodation Owner occupier (Homestay properties).
We are the official university service for students looking for private accommodation.
THE REGISTRATION PROCESS
REGISTRATION FEES AND SERVICE PROVIDED
When you register you will receive the following:
Property inspection from the LSH Standards Officer Property advert on the LSH website Annual landlord newsletter An invite to landlord meetings New landlord pack – this contains an ANUK Landlord
Handbook, 2x Tenancy Agreements & a Notice to Quit Opportunity to exhibit at the LSH Housing Fairs On-going support and advice.
Registration fees and information can be found on the registration charges leaflet, which accompanies this letter and at www.liverpoolstudenthomes.org.
Once the registration fee is paid it will not be refunded even if your property advert does not go live. You are responsible for ensuring you and your property can comply with the LSH Standards and registration requirements before your application is submitted.
Upload current copies of your gas safety certificate, electrical condition report, EPC
and HMO licence (if applicable) for each property
We conduct a property assessment and make recommendations, which must be done
before registration can be completed
Pay the registration fee
Registration completed and theproperty advert goes live on the website
Read the LSH Standards and registration requirements to be sure you can fully comply
Register online or by post (on request)

GOLD STANDARD PROPERTIES
The LSH Gold Standard Property Mark is a joint initiative with Liverpool City Council Accreditation Scheme.
The benefit to landlords is that it helps to promote higher standards of accommodation in a competitive market.
The Gold Standard is awarded to properties which are finished to an exceptional standard and are well managed.
It's free to apply for the Gold Standard property assessment, once you are registered.
Gold Standard properties have a gold stamp included on the property advert on our website and they are a highlighted advert so they appear towards the front pages of property searches.
Gold Standard property criteria includes:
No breaches of the LSH Standards in the last 3 years
A Tenant Handbook for the property An effective protocol for dealing with repairs Properties must be CLASS registered with
Liverpool City Council Modern furnishings and fittings throughout Standardised, good quality flooring Excellent decorative order Double glazing Clean and presentable exterior Must have LSH advanced Security Standards.
