The Workshop The workshop is targeted at the young faculty members and research scholars, who desire to join teaching in future. With the introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate programs in mechanical, civil, chemical and aerospace engineering in various institutes in India, there is a need to train faculty members who teach fluid mechanics and allied subjects so that they can adopt right approach while teaching these subjects and also enable them to inculcate the research interest at both UG and PG levels. The workshop offers a methodical approach to build an insight into research in fluid mechanics.

National Society of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power (NSFMFP)

The National Society of Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Power (NSFMFP) was established in 1973 as a professional society to promote all activities in the field of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power in India. Under the aegis of the society, national conference on Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Power is organized every year since 1969 at different venues in India with participation from academia, R&D sectors and industries. The society has so far organized 44 such conferences along with six international conferences. The society aims to disseminate and propagate knowledge in the fields of fluid mechanics in the country and to play a lead role in training the new teachers engaged in teaching of fluid mechanics and allied subjects.

PSG College of Technology PSG College of Technology, started in year 1951 by PSG & Son’s Charities Trust, is an AICTE approved autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and ISO 9001 certified. Most of the programmes have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). PSG College of Technology believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier disciplines through innovative educational programmes, industrial training, research &consultancy and developing a new cadre of professionals with a high level of competence, deep sense of social commitment and ethics. PSG College of Technology has collaborative arrangements with industries, research laboratories and foreign universities in various areas of joint academic programmes, research and training.

Department of Mechanical Engineering The department is one of the first few that was started during the inception of the college in the year 1951.New courses were introduced subsequently and the existing ones were restructured to reflect the state of the art.All the laboratories in the department are approved for carrying out research leading to Ph.D. degree (Full time and Part time) / M.S (by research) degree by Anna University, Chennai. The department offers consultancy in design, manufacturing and testing of products as per BIS specifications. Right from the start, thrust has been given to practical and industry oriented research and development. This has ensured continuous interaction with industry.
