For fun — check out this whelming whopper:

There was a woman at work when she received a phone call that her daughter was very sick with a fever. She left work and stopped by the pharmacy to get some medication for her daughter.

She returned to her car to find that she had locked the keys inside the car when she went into the pharmacy and was now unable to get into her car to drive home.

She didn’t know what to do and started to panic, so she called home and told the baby sitter what had happened and that she did not know what to do. The baby sitter told her to find a coat hanger and see if that would open the door.

Take Time !Take Time !Take Time !Take Time !Take time to enjoy the beauty of the season! God has given us the beauty of the leaves – wonderful warm sun & cooler nights and also the end of thegarden.

As some people head south, we gear up for snow and cold weather. But I really like the seasons. How do you know how great summer is if you haven’t experienced 20 degrees below zero?? Also, the smell and taste of homemade pumpkin pie – it isn’t the same when it’s 80 degrees outside.

The list of things to do with our church family isn’t written in stone. Anything can be changed if it needs to be but we do hope you will join us to get to know everyone better !!

down on the ground, possibly by someone else who also had locked their keys in their car. Then she looked at the hanger and said, "I don’t know how to use this." So she bowed her head and asked God to send her some help.

Within five minutes a motorcycle roared up and pulled into the parking space next to her car. A rough, dirty-looking biker got off and saw her situation. He asked if he could help her. The woman thought, "This is what you sent to help me, God?"

She finally told him yes, as she needed to hurry and get home to her sick daughter. He walked over to the car, and in less than one minute the car was opened. She hugged the man and through her tears she said, "Thank you so much! You are such a nice man."

The man replied; "No, I’m not, Lady. I just got out of prison for car theft." The woman hugged the man again and with sobbing tears cried out to God, "You even sent me a professional."

During the Korean conflict, Marguerite Higgins,

an award winning reporter covering the war,

asked a young soldier, “If I could give you

anything in the world you wanted, what would

you ask for?”

It was a freezing day. The soldier was eating out of a tin can. His face

was a bit muddy. He thought about Miss Higgins’ question for a few

seconds, and then replied, “Give me tomorrow.”

Christians are people who not only have today, but also have tomorrow.

That is, because we are people who believe in the resurrected Christ, we

believe that whatever comes, whatever happens to us in this life, we will

be victorious. The Bible proclaims that “Death has been swallowed up in

victory” (1 Cor 15:54, NRSV).

St. Paul put it this way: “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory

through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor 15:57, NRSV). We who trust in

the God who raised Jesus from the dead have tomorrow already assured.

We have tomorrow!

Dear Phillips Congregation,

Thank you for the flowers, phone calls

and cards. They are greatly appreciated.

I hope to be back at church soon.

John Faloba

To the Wonderful People @ Phillips Christian Church,

Thank you so much for the multiple blessings you gave during a terribly difficult time. The food was well received. The flowers were beautiful at the funeral home. Being far from home can be trying at times, but knowing our church family is always there for us is a blessing that means the world to us.

Thank you all,

Joseph, Crystal, Abbi & Sarah Phillis

We are going to have a get together on Nov. 20th, from 11 am to 1

pm at the church. Bring your current project your working on, it

can be anything, and a salad or dessert for lunch. Come and have

some fun! - Robin Heestand

Our first Women of Christ party went really well. We sponsored an "inside" hot dog roast called Phall Phrankfurter Pheast with around 48 attending on that rainy and cold evening on October 24th. We enjoyed White House donuts, cider and microwave smores along with oven roasted dogs with toppings, chips and veggies. Children present decorated a pumpkin for themselves and we thank Vincents for those tasty golden delicious apples to take home. Also, thank you to all who brought other food. It was a great start to our fall season and lots of fellowship and catching up.

Future projects for our Women of Christ group: Dorothy Faloba has volunteered again to take care of finding a few local families who may need some help during the holiday season with groceries for their Thanksgiving meal. We will ask that anyone who would like to contribute to that cause, please put it on your offering envelope and designate Thanksgiving WOC or you may purchase a gift card from a local grocery store and give to one of us by Sunday, November 22.

Our Christmas project, will also be open to the whole church. We will be purchasing or you may purchase men's socks for use at the Mahoning Valley Rescue Mission in Youngstown, Ohio. They have told us they are in need of socks the most. More details on this project will be in the church bulletin, but if you are out shopping pick up a package for a good cause from our church in December.

December 15th will be the Christmas Party for our group at a local restaurant in town. Ladies only !! We can get away from cookie baking, gift shopping & decorating for some fellowship. Everyone is to bring a $5.00 gag gift to exchange. Details on this and a sign up sheet will be put up next month.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving with your families. Don't forget to thank God for your many blessings of the year 2015.

I know I was blessed to have the best parents you could ask for until God called them home this past year. ---Diana Reiter

Making the stuffing for Thanksgiving dinnerhelps restore my heartto gratefulness. FirstI cut bread into cubesto dry out. Has it reallybeen a year since Ithanked God for the

simple things of life? Dear God, thank you for my daily bread. Next I boil giblets for the tasty broth. When did I last express thanks for my body — even the oft-forgotten parts? Thank you, God, for creating and sustaining me.

Then I dice onions and celery, adding them to the mixture. That reminds me to thank God for abundant harvests. Finally I measure raisins, nuts, sage andsalt into the stuffing, as scents fill the air. Lord, help me not grow weary of the interesting “spices” that fillmy life.

As the stuffing goes into the oven, warm air wafting into the kitchen, I remember to thank God for providing my home. Here relatives and friends gather, often an odd combination. Yet when we bow our heads in thankfulness, we’re an unbeatable mix.
