PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
The count down is on! It has been two years in the planning and this Friday night we get to experience our much
anticipated fete. Many thanks to all families who have already indicated they can spare an hour or two to help out, your
efforts are much appreciated. A fete meeting will be held before the P & C Meeting this Wednesday night, commencing
at 5.45pm in the staffroom. I strongly encourage anyone who is involved in a stall to try and get along to the fete
meeting. The regular monthly P & C meeting will commence at 6.30pm sharp.
A reminder that this week’s assembly will not run due to the hall being needed for fete setting up. Any awards will be
held over until the next assembly.
Additionally, we are facing a few days of our canteen not operating. Please look for those details later in the newsletter
and be sure to mark them in your diary/phone to ensure that students bring enough food and drink from home to see
them through their day.
Have a great week, we look forward to seeing you at the fete!
Have a great week, Mandy Crocker Principal

YEAR 4 ART VISIT Tomorrow Year 4 students will be treated to a visit from illustrator Megan Forward. Megan has illustrated books such as, All I want for Christmas is Rain and a Patch from Scratch. Students will be participating in an art workshop from 1:30 p.m. YEAR 6 2019 CAPTAINS AND VICE CAPTAINS SPEECHES AND ELECTION Late today, we met with Year 5 students to discuss the process of electing our 2019 School Captains and Vice-Captains. This is an important opportunity for our Year 5 students and we are mindful of making sure this is a serious and meaningful experience for those students who wish to nominate for these roles in our school community. Students in Year 5 who would like to nominate for the role of 2019 School Captain and Vice-Captain have been asked to develop, with support at school, a one page summary outlining why they would make an effective Captain, and how they have contributed to the life of our school. This summary will form the basis of student’s election speeches. Year 5 students nominating for the role of School Captains and Vice-Captains for 2019 will make their speeches to staff, and students in Years 1 to 5 and the school community on Tuesday 20th November, commencing at 9:30am in the school hall. Parents and carers are most welcome to attend this event. The election of these important representatives of our school is a serious and important process and we believe this event should be conducted with dignity and fairness. Students have therefore been reminded that the use of ‘gimmicks’ such as banners, posters handouts, costumes and unreasonable promises are not to be used. Good luck to all our Year 5 nominees. Mrs Diaz, Mr Motton and Mrs Hilton YEAR 6 GRADUATION To be held Wednesday 12th December at the Rules Club, invitations will hopefully be out at the end of the week. Students are able to invite 2 guests, if students require more than 2 guests can you please contact Cassandra Diaz at the school. This year students will be fundraising in the hope of purchasing a farewell gift for the school. The first fundraising event will be held Monday 19th November (Week 6). It will be a cupcake day. Students will be able to purchase cupcakes from Year 6 students at recess and lunchtime.
