A reminder about Renato

I just wanted to post a reminder concerning Renato...

Without rehashing the entire issue (do a search for a post entitled "Concerning Renato" and you can read

more), I would like to remind everyone that Renato withdrew from this forum and asked that we remove

their section and no longer discuss them. We have complied with this request and will continue to do so.

We ask that you (the members here) do as well.

Renato is allowed in the Look What I Got section, the For Sale and Trade areas. Other than that, posts

concerning them will be deleted.

Thanks.

I missed all the excitement. I really need to see the accident. I'm not trying to be a smart al-hick. Could

someone help me find that thread. A search using 'Concerning Renato' came up with way to many pages

of threads. When I removed Renato I got 0 Threads.

Stewart I'm sure there's a lot more than less than perfect IP coatings.

Michael, I, for one, would like to encourage you to reconsider this policy. Especially in light of the fact

that they are now returning to Shop and will once again be a ShopNBC brand, why do we need to

continue to allow DM to dictate to us what we can talk about? I would like to see you inform Mr. Mink

that the members of WatchGeeks will discuss whatever they want within the scope of the TOS.

See, that is where you are wrong in your logic or thinking. No one is dictating to us what we can and

cannot talk about. After consulting with Eyal we decided to go along with Daniel's request because we

thought it would be, considering the circumstances, to be the best thing for WatchGeeks as a site and the

members here.

Thank you Nick and Michael. I appreciate the information Sirs.

I will try and see through it for what it is and isn't. The Good the Bad and probably some Ugly. The truth is

probably in there.

Even if Renato goes back on Shop things would be fine staying just the way they are on here IMO, there

are lots of other avenues for news to get through on the grapevine and until the major players who came

to this decision in the first place should decide otherwise life goes on in Geeksville.

Thanks Mike. Frankly I guess I missed what the big uproar was about. I have a number of Renato watches

and enjoy them, just like I do a number of other brands. From the reasonably priced to super high end. It

is just nice if everyone could get along....I guess that is a bit naive when there is competition for market

shares and everyones dollar. I wish everyone well.

Well, it really has nothing to do with either market share or not wanting anyone to do well. As a matter

fact, you can ask any of the watch vendors at SNBC, we work together, support each other and help each

other all of the time. As a matter of fact, sitting here with Justin and Stan right now going over our shows.

The issue came up over the tourbillon and how that was all handled.

And yet people keep posting replies that have nothing to do with LWIG, or for sale/trade, lol.

The Renato Tourbillon issue was handled very badly by Mr. Mink and I think the admin in WGs did the

right thing whereas the membership here is concerned. It would have been wrong to stand by and let it

happen; there were a lot of members with money already invested in a watch they would likely never

see.

Renato's poor marketing and how customers were treated regarding their tourbillon and subsequent

request to leave this forum were the reasons they were removed from this forum. It's Renato's doing

that resulted in them not being on this forum. Considering all that has happened Renato still makes an

outstanding timepiece that many geeks own and will continue to buy, and many would like to read and

comment on them here. However, if Daniel requested to return to watchgeeks would it be considered, or

it's unlikely that this would happen?
