Software Discussion goto TWiki
Except Twiki (DayaBay)
Same dial-in number, pass code, and time as general meeting.
Beijing Time: 8:45 AM Friday
PDT: 5:45 PM Thursday
EDT: 8:45 PM Thursday
Had 3.5 meetings
Minutes can be found in DocDB. (again combined with Simulation)
IHEP use skype dial in (1.3$/hour)
With a normal soundcard and a meeting microphone, sound quality is good.

If IHEP Mailing list IHEP, some are lost.
Karsten, IT people of both sides, and I are working hard to solve it.
Temporary solution: forward by my Gmail account.

Now Active for Monte Carlo discussion. Share your knowledge there.
Layout improved, better structured.
Use DayaBay:pass login, then register your own account.

An upgrade to VRVS
Good for desktop sharing (good for software discussion)
Bad audio
In Dec. 2004, we used point-to-point video to connect LBL.
In principle, the video system support H323 but failed to connect es-net.
Someone used VRVS to CERN and Taipei.
I heard that CAS has a good video system supporting 100 channels.
If we need video, we will work it out.
Do we need Video?
“Videoconferencing is not trivial at this stage.” -- Kwong Lau
Kwong and I will work on it in the coming days.

Sync twice per day, and 8:15, 8:45 on Tuesday (Beijing time) for general phone meeting.
In case network traffic from US to China, as well as a backup.
Mysql database sync is not perfectly done.
Jianglai and I are still working on it.

Usage
No individual login account. Use dayabay/password to login, as the internal web, but sometimes the username and password must be entered twice, one for cgi and one for the document area.
“Your Account” on the home page is used only for email notification (Sign up!) preference. You may choose Immediately, Daily, Weekly, combined with Topics, Authors, etc.
Add a meeting talk as a normal doc, then associate it with meeting event.

Tips on adding docs
Authors preloaded for collaborators. Anyone can add a new author. But I prefer using preloaded user DayaBay than adding outsiders (larger table)
Multiple Selections in Authors, Topics
A common mistake: Unwanted item hasn’t been deselected when select in another MajorTopic (in another box). Press CTRL+click (double-clicks on some machines) to deselect or double select.
After the new document uploading, the refreshing of webpage seems hanging there. Don't worry about it. Once you see the title of the new doc, it is in database.
Suggest new topics to me.
Please have a look at your name the Authors List and add your missing talks.

Google-like Search
I removed the keywords since I think the predefined keywords are largely overlapped with topics.
Instead, and much better, an automatic ht:/Dig indexing is supplemented. With external parsers, ht:/Dig indexes PDF, PPT, MS doc, excel, postscript etc. (thanks to a discussion with Brett. I’ve thought ht:/Dig can only do text indexing)
The indexing covers DocDB, IHEP website, and LBL mailing list archives. (didn’t succeed in including Wiki)
Search box on the internal webpage searches all sites by default.
Search box on the DocDB webpage searches DocDB only.
Searching “trigger” returns 135 matches, 120 in DocDB/website, 15 in emails.
Advanced search form: http://dayawane.ihep.ac.cn/htdig/
The indexing database update daily. (new docs may not show up)
