Carla Evans
I have been traveling on a lengthy cruise trip to Australia and New Zealand, and with
the rush of preparing for such a long time away, did not have time to write a more infor-
mative greeting before I left.
This newsletter is getting out late to you, and I apologize for the delay. Hopefully, you
have noticed the articles in The Villager about our important upcoming general meeting
including details of our informative speaker. A special thanks to Pat Dando for making
the arrangements for Johnny Khamis to speak to us on Tuesday, February 26th. If you
have not already made your reservations for this dinner meeting, please do so immedi-
ately, as the deadline for reservations is Friday, February 22nd. We hope to have all
reservations in by Noon that day so the Villages Clubhouse can plan for us. More details
are included on Page 3 regarding your meal choices and details about our speaker.
The cruise was wonderful, although, we are all suffering from jet lag with 17 hours in
the air to get home from Australia. I look forward to seeing you on February 26th at
5:00 pm.
Respectfully yours,

THE “FISCAL CLIFF” A.K.A.THE “REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH”
Do you recall when Obama first took office in 2008 He said car companies and banks needed bail-outs to keep from fate
The real reason he did that is because they gave his campaign millions Our tax monies were his pay back that raised the debt-ceiling to trillions
Obama’s Hawaii vacations cost four million dollars every time The “Fiscal Cliff” was a ruse to raise taxes leaving us one thin dime
But Obama’s Socialist/Marxist plan is bad for our nation’s health He has already begun with the “Redistribution of Wealth”
If you were a Boy Scout in your youth and took the Oath, watch
what happens to the Boy Scouts of America

“One of the ordinary modes,
by which tyrants accomplish
their purposes without
resistance, is, by disarming
the people, and making it an
offense to keep arms.” —Joseph Story
(1779– 1845)
Supreme Court Justice appointed by
James Madison, Joseph Story was an
American lawyer who served on the
Court from 1811—1845.
Demand for a Bill of Rights Almost immediately after beginning to meet in 1789, the first Congress, led by James Madison, began to consider amendments to the Constitution proposed by the state ratifying conventions. George Washington and Madison had personally pledged to consider amendments because they realized that some amendments would be necessary to re-duce pressure for a second constitutional convention that might drastically alter and weaken the new federal govern-ment. Fastening on Anti-Federalist criticisms that the Constitution lacked a clear articulation of guaranteed rights, Madison proposed amendments that emphasized the rights of individuals rather than the rights of states, an ingenious move that led to these amendments—now known as the “Bill of Rights.”
The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects a right to bear arms from infringement by the federal government. It was ratified on December 15, 1791.
