Top 10 Most Sinister PSYOPS Mission Patches

    Vigilant Citizen

Mission patches are used by military and space organizations to identify, symbolize and describe a missions

objectives and its crew. This tradition is also observed in the shady world of PSYOPS where each secretmission of the Pentagon also gets its patch. These patches offer a rare glimpse into the Pentagons secretoperations and the symbolism on them is rather striking: ominous and cryptic phrases, dark occultsymbolism, references to secret societies, andsometimes even a rather dark sense of humor. Heres the top10 most sinister PSYOPS patches.

In 1965, NASA began using cloth patches to identify eachof its missions, meant to symbolize the crew and theobjectives of the mission. Each rocket launch hastherefore a patch designed by crew members and theofficial design team and are proudly displayed onequipment and worn by NASA astronauts and other

personnel affiliated with a particular manned or unmannedspace mission.

    Various NASA mission patches

Since then, other organizations involved in space traveland secret operations began using mission patches, including those that specialize in PSYOPS (psychologicalwarfare): the CIA, the Department of Defense and theNational Reconnaissance Office (NRO), etc. What doesspace have to do with psychological warfare? Spysatellites. The existence of the NRO was only declassified

in 1992, but records show since its creation in 1960, NROmissions have launched dozens of secret spy satellites intospace, collecting an incredible amount of information onthe United States friends, enemies and citizens.

As it is nearly impossible to obtain information regardingthese highly classified endeavours, mission patchesoffer a rare glimpse into the world of PSYOPS. Even ifone is not well-versed in symbolism, it is easy toperceive a sinister vibe coming from the patchdesigns. Laced with strange symbols, ominouscreatures, obscure latin phrases and even dark humor,

these patches are a reminder that those wearing themmight not be the most wholesome people on the planet.

The trailblazer in this area of research is Trevor Paglen, who, in 2008, published the book I Could Tell You ButThen You Would Have to be Destroyed by Me:Emblems from the Pentagons Black World, wherethrough hundreds of Freedom of Information requests he obtained and analyzed forty mission patches. Fromthe book reviews:

The iconography of the United States military. Not the mainstream military, with its bars andribbons and medals, but the secret or black projects world, which may or may not involvecontacting aliens, building undetectable spy aircraft, and experimenting with explosives thatcould make atomic bombs look like firecrackers. Here, mysterious characters and crypticsymbols hint at intrigue much deeper than rank, company, and unit.UTNE Reader

these days everything is branded. Military symbols are frequently replete with heraldicimagerysome rooted in history, others based on contemporary popular arts that featurecomic charactersbut these enigmatic dark-op images, in some cases probably designed bythe participants themselves, are more personal, and also more disturbing, than most.Steven Heller, The New York Times Book Review

Since the release of this book, new mission patches have been released that are as strange and cryptic astheir predecessors. If these patches are meant to symbolize the values of the crew and the objectives of the

mission, perhaps we should be a little concerned. Here are the top 10 most sinister mission patches:

    #10 Alien Face

TENCAP is an acronym forTactical Exploitation of NationalCapabilities and is a collection ofprograms involving the cuttingedge of warfare.

    The purpose of the AF

TENCAP program is toexploit the current andfuture potential of existingnational, commercial, andcivil space systems andnational air-breathingsystems, and to providethese capabilities to thewarfighter as rapidly as

    possible.- Source

Special almost invariably meansblack or highly classified. Doesthe highly classified part of themission have something to dowith the fact that the badge bearsthe face of an alien? The sayingat the bottom does not help: Thephrase Oderint Dum Metuantisusually associated with Caligula, the first-century Roman emperor whose name became synonymous with depravity, madness, and tyranny. Ittranslates as Let them hate so long as they fear. Nice.

#9 All Your Base Are Belong to Us

A giant angry dragon clutchingthe planet, bringing destructionfrom space. Thats a nice way tosymbolize space missions. InPSYOPS symbolism, dragonstypically represent signals-intelligence satellite launches; thedragons wing patterns symbolizethe satellites massive gold-foil

dish antennae meant to collect alltypes of information from earth. The phrase Omnis VestriSubstructio Es Servus Ad Nobiscan loosely be translated to Allyou base are servant to us. This

phrase does not make muchsense, except that it vaguelystates that the world is owned bythose who made that patch. Butthis phrase is also reminiscent ofa geeky 2002 Internet memebased on a poor translation in anold-school Nintendo game.Google also recently paid

homage to this phrase too, with aGoogle Doodle featuring a codedmessage and a UFO abduction.

The biggest internet meme of 2002, abadly translated Sega game.

This allusion to popular culture is quitefunny yet disturbing Im pretty surethey truly believe that all our base arebelong to them.

#9 Hymn to PanThe PAN satellite was launched inSeptember 2009 and is so top-secret thatno military or governmental organizationclaimed to have built it.

A United Launch Alliance Atlas Vrocket has launched with PAN, aclassified satellite which will beoperated by the US Government.

The launch was on time, at thestart of a two hour, nine minute launch windowwhich opened at 21:35 GMT (17:35 local time).Unusually for an American government satellite, the agency responsible for operating thespacecraft has not been disclosed.- Nasa Space Flight

According to the patch PAN stands for Palladium atNight, Palladium being a silvery-white metallic elementthat is probably present in the satellite. The mission is so

secret, however, that it is jokingly said that the name PANactually stands for Pick a Name (notice the subtlequestion mark underneath the rocket on the patch). PANis also the name of an ancient horned god that has astrange link with the history of rocket science in the UnitedStates.

The ancient god Pan, a nature deity with phallic attributes. Is itme or is the PAN mission patch also rather phallic?

John Parsons, a pioneer in American space propulsionwho is often credited for having propelled the United

States into the space age (a crater of the moon is namedin his honor), was also a notorious occultist. In fact, hewas a prominent member of the Ordo Templi Orienti (theO.T.O.) an occult secret society popularized by AleisterCrowley. Seeing no separation between his professionaland his occult work, Parsons was known to chant

Crowleys poem entitled Hymn to Pan before each testrocket launch.

Parsons would dance and chant poetrymostnotably Crowleys Hymn to Panbefore rocket tests.- Goeffrey Landis, The Three Rocketeers

Is Pan still invoked during rocket launches? At least during this super-secret one, it would seem.

    #8 Supra Summus

This is a patch for an NRO spy-satellite launch. Those familiarwith this site will probablyrecognize that this is Illuminatisymbolism 101: The unfinishedpyramid topped by the All-SeeingEye. The All-Seeing Eye needshelp, however: it needs spy

satellites to be even more all-seeing. LMA at the bottom rightmost likely refers to LockheedMartin Aerospace, which is theultimate Big Brother mega-company working with the CIA,NRO, NSA and IRS.

Above the All-Seeing Eye iswritten Supra Summus, whichcan be translated to MostSuperior and Highest, which, if

nothing else, indicates a healthylevel of self-esteem. Other NROspy-satellite launches have alsoused this design.

    NROL-32 Patch.

    #7 Two Faced ShadowGuy

    The 23rd Space Operations Squadron

(23 SOPS) is a United States Air Forceunit located at New Boston Air ForceStation in New Hampshire. The patch ofthis mission features a creepy-lookingfigure in a creepy hood looking over theearth with creepy eyes, staring creepilyat the US. However, that not thecreepiest thing in this patch. If youclosely look at the contour of the blackface, youll see another face, with pointynose and pointy ears, looking left. Whois this creepier dude within an alreadysuper-creepy dude? And whats up withall the layers of creepy?

The saying Semper Vigilans meansAlways Vigilant. At least I can relate tothat.

    #5 The Grid

Are you thinking of selling your condoand your Prius in order to leaveeverything and to go off the grid? Try it!This knight will slash your headoff. Of course, if you closely atthis patch, it is clear: there is nooff the grid. This patch actually

depicts the information gridthose crazy conspiracy theoristskeep rambling about, completewith nodes at the intersections.Defenders of the Domain is asubgroup of the NSA Information

Assurance group and iscomprised of individuals who areon the front lines in developingthe strategy, the concepts, theplanning and the technicalimplementation in the Information

Assurance domain. They are thetrue leaders in the world ofCybersecurity. In other words, they use satellites to monitor theinternet.

The man with the sword is in thedistinct dress of a KnightTemplar, this ancient group ofCrusaders that became an occultsecret society. The Knighttherefore represents the

descendants of the Templars, themodern Illuminatus.

    #4 NRO Snakes

This is another mysterious patchof the NRO. The programassociated with this patch istotally unknown. All we know isthat it is represented by threemenacing vipers wrapped aroundthe the earth, which is a

completely reassuring image, right? The Latin inscriptionNunquam Ante Numquam Iterumtranslates to Never before, neveragain. What never happenedbefore and will never happenagain, we may never know.

    #3 I Could Tell You

You know that a mission is top-secret when not even an obscure

symbol can be used to representit. This patch was designed as ageneric insignia for blackprojects conducted by the Navys

Air Test and Evaluation SquadronFour. The Latin phrase Si Ego

  • 8/4/2019 Republicbroadcasting.org-Top 10 Most Sinister PSYOPS Mis (1)

    6/12

Certiorem Faciam Mihi TuDelendus Eris is roughlytranslated to I could tell you but then Id have to kill you. Thathas become a clich phrase, butconsidering these are the peoplewho actually created it, it seemsthey dont think it is pass. In fact, theyre dead serious about it.

There is however a twist on thephrase. According to Paglen, thelatin phrase is worded in peculiarway in order to refer to Greekand Roman texts.

The Latin phrase Si EgoCertiorem Faciam MihiTu Delendus Eris roughlytranslates into a clich

commonly heard in thevicinity of blackprograms: I could tellyou, but then Id have tokill you.

But the phrasing here isunusual because it iswritten in the passivevoice: a more accuratetranslation of the Latinwould be I could tell you,but then you would haveto be destroyed by me.By employing the passivevoice, the patchsdesigner makes tworeferences that would notexist in other phrasings. The first reference is tothe Greek god of Chaos,Eris, about whom Homerwrote in Book Four of theIliad: [Eris] whose wrathis relentless is thesister and companion ofmurderous Ares, she whois only a little thing at thefirst, but thereafter growsuntil she strides on theearth with her headstriking heaven. She thenhurled down bitternessequally between bothsides as she walkedthrough the onslaughtmaking mens painheavier.

The passive phrasing of the Latin also echoes the words of the second-century BCE Romansenator Cato the Elder, who roamed the Senate repeating the words Carthago delendaestCarthage must be destroyed. In 149 BCE, Cato got his way and Rome attacked theNorth African city, located near present-day Tunis. Three years after beginning their assault,

    7/12

the Roman army overran Carthage, tore down its walls, and sold its inhabitants into slavery. After the Roman Senate declared that no one would ever again live where the city had stood, legend holds that Rome salted the earth around the city in order to ensure that Carthagewould remain a wasteland.- Source

So yeah, the badge isnt just a simple death threat: it also alludes to a wrath from above of mythologicalproportions. That sounds like a fun mission.

#2 Get Your Kicks on 66

The Minotaur program iscomposed of top-secret NROspy-satellite launching missions.Minotaurs are bull-headedcreatures from Greek mythologythat are always angry, violent andmerciless. Minotaurs bear manyresemblances to the Middle-Eastern deity Molech, a bull-

headed god with the body of aman to whom child sacrifices weremade, and who is said to be thecenter of modern occult rituals atplaces like Bohemian Grove.

    Molech

In this patch for NROL-66, the redMinotaur (as if hailing directlyfrom hell) is holding a street signof the mythical route 66. It is

rather difficult not to see anallusion to the devil (who is oftenportrayed in red) and the number666.

Furthermore, according to someoccult researchers, route 66 wasoriginally laid out to become asort of occult pilgrimage.

The famous old American highway Route 66 was laid out by

Freemasons with the apparent intention of sending masses ofautomobile riders into a self-processing occult trip.

Route 66 began at the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago, near thesite of the University of Chicagos collection of Aztec ritualincunabula. It ended in Barstow, California in the Mohave desert, which is for the Freemasons, the cosmic graveyard of the West, thefinal destiny of Anubis, the celestial jackal, otherwise known as Sirius(see Giorgio de Santillana andHertha Von Dechend, Hamlets Mill: AnEssay on Myth and th Frame of Time, p. 358).

If this version of Route 66 smacks of some medieval pilgrimage made

more appropriately on a camel than by car, it is for good reason. Most of Route 66 was based on a road forged in 1857 by Lt. EdwardBeale and his caravan of the U.S. Camel Corps.- Michael A. Hoffman II, Secret Societies and Psychological Warfare

    8/12

So who is really getting their kicks on Route 66?

    #1 The Devil You Know

This patch for NROL-49 depictsa phoenix rising from the flameswith the flag of the United Statesin the background. The Latinwords melior diabolus quem

scies roughly translates to meanthe devil you know, as in thephrase better the devil you knowthan the devil you dont know.Cryptic. According to NASA, thissaying refers to the return of theuse of an old system afterattempting to use a new one, which had resulted in failure.

    The mission patch for

NRO L-49 shows aphoenix rising out of afire, with the words meliordiabolus quem scies, which translate intoEnglish as better thedevil you know, indicatingthe return to the oldersystem following thefailure of the attempt toreplace it.- Source

A rather odd choice of words for a governmental agency, but definitely on-par with this whole sinister, hellishtheme going on with PSYOPS.

NROL-49 before its launch featuring its mission patch.

Another patch related to NRO-49 depicts the satellite as a winged fiery being (referred to by NASA as a

devil) named Betty, who is holding a trident and a wrench.

An image of a devilfeatures on the launch

patch. The old tradition ofgiving rockets personalnames also appears tohave been revived; Delta352 seems to have beennamed Betty, and the

    Atlas V that launched from

Vandenberg last year wasnamed Gladys.- Ibid.

The patch shows the moon (orsomething) partially covering theearth. If you look closely, thereare letters in the detail of theastral body. What do they referto? At the bottom of the patch, the latin phrase is also rather

cryptic: Primoris Gravis ExOccasus. Primoris meansFirst, Gravis stands forimportant, heavy or serious andOccasus means setting of thesun, the West, or fall. In otherwords, I dont know what means.First heavy setting of the sun?The most important thing after the sunset? First serious fall? Regardless of the exact meaning, there seemsto be an emphasis on the concept of darkness. Betty is pure darkness wrapped in flames and is partiallycovering the sun. There is a grey celestial body moving towards the earth and were still talking about aspy-satellite. Okay.

    Honorable Mentions

There are a bunch of other patches giving a glimpse in the somehow twisted world of psy-0ps:

  • 8/4/2019 Republicbroadcasting.org-Top 10 Most Sinister PSYOPS Mis (1)

    10/12

Wizards controlling the earth through magic is a recurring theme in psy-ops patches. Is magick still a part of rocket

launching like in the times of John Parsons and the O.T.O.?

What do the letters at the bottommean? None of your f***ing business. No, Im not being rude, thats what theletters stand for. Dont ask, dont tellis a little different here.

Another NRO patch, one that prettymuch sums up the meaning of all ofthe above. The spy-satellite issymbolized by an angry dragonclutching the entire planet with itsfour claws holding a diamond in itstail. It seems a bit preoccupied to betoo concerned with our privacy orthings like that.

    In Conclusion

Although it isnt possible to knowexact meaning of the symbolsfound in these mission patches, the clear symbolism of thesepatches truly give an insider lookat the philosophy, the mind stateand the background of theorganizations creating them.Sorcerers controlling the earth, vipers surrounding the earth, angry dragons clutching the earth this is how the erceive

themselves and their work. Myquestion is: Should we maybe bea little concerned? One couldargue that these patches aremeant to be menacing to

Americas enemies. This could betrue, but most satellites launchedby the NRO are meant to spy onNorth America, hence the

emphasis on the continent inmany of these patches.

One thing is certain, missionpatches are the most honestdescriptions we have of thesesecret missions. Since most ofthem were not intended for massexposure, they are devoid ofpublic relations sugar-coating.The patches do not talk aboutbringing democracy and the light

of freedom to the world theyshow the world in chains and inflames, controlled by dragonsand sorcerers, and their wordsthreaten death and destruction.

The occult symbolism illustratedin most of these patches is alsoreminder that these organizationshave relations to secret societiesand are in the know. And thosewho are not in the knowtheinitiated masses, the profane- arenot welcome.

Procul Este Profani: Keep yourdistance, you who are uninitiated.
