ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide Development leadership with high quality research data on high level prospects, companies, nonprofit organizations and major gift donors. Provide research services to development officers. Collaborate and strategize with development officers to help them identify, cultivate and solicit prospects. Produce and deliver high quality data on new prospects, existing donors, companies and nonprofit organizations. Assist with introducing new development officers to Research Services through training. Create reports, provide analysis and insight on possible strategies and next steps for prospective donors. Develop knowledge and understanding of the donor database and become familiar with high level prospects. Use variety of databases and segmentation strategies to discover new local, national and international prospects. Review local, national and international news, industry trends and online networking tools. Send articles/alerts to clients as appropriate. Notify Data Integrity personnel about new prospect/donor information so that it can be appropriately updated in Banner. Test and verify data and report known issues to either Research or Information Services management. Safeguard the confidentiality of donor information at all times. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines as indicated by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA), as well as University guidelines.
