Abstract Nanotechnology is an advanced as well as budding branch of the science. It involves the
studies of materials at the nano scale. It has demonstrated its enormous applications in
almost every discipline like in biotechnology, medicines, electronics, etc. Among its nanotechnology, when applied to medical specialties than it is called nanomedicines.
Nanomedicines are surprisingly effective in case of cancer. Nanomedicines provide
better drug delivery as well as more efficacious against tumor cells and with the help of
various nanoparticles better imaging of cancerous tissues can be possible. This article
briefly describes the current as well as future trends of nanomedicines in the case of cancers. It also pronounces benefits of these advanced medicines over the traditional
medicines.

Effectiveness of an Informational Booklet on Prevention of
Cervical Cancer in Terms of Knowledge and Attitude of
Female College Students
Sharma P., Kumari V.*, Bishnoi A. M.M. College of Nursing, M.M. University, Mullana, Ambala, Haryana, India
Abstract Cancer of the uterine cervix is the leading cause of mortality and morbidity among
women worldwide. An experimental study was undertaken with the objectives to assess
and evaluate the effectiveness of an informational booklet on prevention of cervical cancer in terms of knowledge and attitude among female college students before and after
the administration of informational booklet. The research design adopted for the study was one-group pre-test post-test design. The sample comprised of 150 female college
students of M.M. Engineering College, Mullana which were selected by convenience
sampling. A knowledge questionnaire was used to assess knowledge of female college students regarding prevention of cervical cancer and 5-point. Attitude scale to assess
attitude of female college students regarding prevention of cervical cancer. Paired “t”
test was used to find out the significance of difference in mean pretest and posttest knowledge and attitude score. The findings suggest that the mean post test knowledge
score (25.9) was significantly higher than mean pre-test knowledge score (20.2) at p < 0.05. The subjects after exposure to the informational booklet gained a significantly
higher attitude score (96.56 versus 68.11 at p < .05.) The study concluded that
informational booklet was effective in enhancing knowledge as well as modifying the attitude of female college students on prevention of cervical cancer.

Efficacy of Home Based Progressive Resistance Exercise
Program Verses Aerobic Exercise Program in Improving
Quality of Life in Elderly Subjects
Choudhuri B., Patra P.* Department of Physiotherapy, Dolphin (P.G.) Institute, Dehradun, India
Abstract The purpose of the present study is to compare the effectiveness of resistance training versus aerobic training for reduction of cancer related fatigue and improvement in
quality of life. A comparative study. Participants were selected from The Government Cancer Hospital, Agartala and few private cancer clinics. A total of 20 subjects were
recruited for the study on the basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria after signing the
informed consent form. MFSI-SF was used to measure cancer related fatigue and QOLS
was used to measure quality of life. The result of present study indicates that both
resistance and aerobic training improved the quality of life in subjects with CRF.
However, resistance trainings were more effective in both physical score (PS) and mental score (MS). The present study concluded that resistance training is more effective in
reducing fatigue in subjects with CRF as compared to aerobic exercise.

Treatment Planning Techniques in External Beam Photon
Radiation Therapy
Michieka A.* Interdisciplinary Research, University of Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
Abstract Volumetric modulated radiation therapy (VMAT) is a modern treatment technique in
radiation therapy, and it delivers conformal radiation dose to the tumor while minimizing dose to the normal tissues. The beam delivery is done in the form of one or multiple arcs,
with gantry rotating around the treatment isocenter. A number of literature suggests that VMAT could be an attractive option to treat prostate cancer. However, there is no
consensus about which treatment technique produces better dosimetric results. In this
article, some of the factors which may influence the results of the studies are addressed. Furthermore, major dosimetric findings comparing different treatment planning
techniques for prostate cancer in external beam photon radiation therapy are
summarized.
