Tumpek Klurut is one of the six variants of Tumpek (auspicious days) in Bali, which is

falls every Saturday kliwon wuku Krulut based on Balinese Calendar. On this day,

Balinese make an offering for the manifestation of God as Dewa Iswara, for his

creation of sacred sounds and percussion in beauty as well as art.

On this day, Balinese make an offering for all the gamelan or music equipments

with purpose to make the sound of gamelan beautiful or has soul (taksu) when it

is being played on as the element of art.

Based on Balinese Hindu's beliefs, Tumpek Krulut itself comes from the word "lulut"

which mean a good feeling from heart. Music or gamelan always entertain our

heart and make our mind peaceful . This year the Tumpek Klurut falls on Saturday,

7th December 2013. Don't be surprised if some of the Balinese cultural perfor-

mance will be closed on this day.
