2. Pre-Assessment Data Collection

Pre-Assessment

• • Placement test implemented within the firstweek of school from District reading series;Treasuresa McGraw Hill series.

• • Placement test intended to screen, diagnosis, and place students in appropriate reading groups and skill groups.

• • Intervention designed around pre-assessment data to improve skill deficits.

3. Participants and Setting

Data was collected from students in two fifth grade inclusion classrooms.

Teacher collecting data works between both of these rooms.

Inter-rater reliability of data was conducted.

Consultant met with each general education teacher to discuss results and outcomes and to substantiate data collection.

Classroom 1: 15 Students

Classroom 2: 14 Students

For purposes of confidentiality student names have been replaced with student numbers.

After analysis, data was discussed as a team.

As a team, skill deficits were addressed, and explicit skill group instruction was found to be the most effective way of targeting said deficits.

Skill group instruction on specific skills takes place during a specified time each day.
