Escalation management included working with other product teams to resolve urgent Customer issues. This included spending most of 2001 working several escalations with OEM Smalltalk applications in manufacturing environments. We had no Escalations during 2002.

Support Planning responsibilities included calculating product defect projections and insuring and documenting that sufficient resources were planned for post-ship Product Support based

on the defect projections. Level 2 and Level 3 teams were responsible for worldwide 24 X 7 product support. Team responsibilities included developing and testing Smalltalk product code and working with

Customers to resolve product issues. The 6.0 release was delivered on schedule with an XP development methodology.

Required an in depth understanding of Object Oriented principals (OOD, OOA, and OOP) in both theory and practice.

Assignments included testing Server Runtime under IMS/TM on OS/390 with DB2. Testing included designing database functions and stored procedures.

Overall Project Lead for the ImagePlus Support team and the technical product owner for the

Object Distribution Manager for OS/2 product. Also Lead Developer for the Object Distribution Manager for Windows effort.

Responsibilities included project management, change management, process management, process infrastructure, escalation management, planning, scheduling, mentoring, coordination

of activities and coverage for the ImagePlus Support team and the Object Distribution

Manager on Windows Development team, and regular reports to upper management. Moved Development and Support operations from Bethesda, MD to RTP, NC. Level 2 and Level 3 teams were responsible for worldwide 24 X 7 product support. Support assignments included document workflow infrastructure related projects with various

insurance and government institutions. The Object Distribution Manager for Windows project included a port from COBOL on OS/2 to

C on Windows. This required architecting, designing, and writing the C framework for the

product port. Half the development team had never used C before. The Object Distribution Manager project was completed on schedule and within budget using

an Iterative development methodology. This was the first time for most of the development team using an iterative methodology.

Tools included DB2, PVCS, CMVC, and MS Visual C/C++.

Technical Consultant to Corporate Litigation 1/94 – 2/95

Technical liaison to a team of lawyers from Cravath, Swaine and Moore. Provided technical analysis and information to litigation team. Case centered around project management. Developed a pair of Lotus Notes applets to track pertinent case information and work product.

Team numbered up to 45 persons spanning three continents. Coordination was accomplished

via email, empowerment, and effective delegation. Phone calls as necessary. Level 2 and Level 3 teams were responsible for worldwide 24 X 7 product support. ImagePlus/ESA was a suite of DB2/COBOL/Assembler applications which ran in both CICS and

IMS/TM transaction environments under MVS. Product suite also included MSDOS and Windows workstation components.

The Product Support team was built from scratch to world class standards. This was

accomplished through a combination of team building, process improvements, and organizational changes.

Work experience included projects with a number of insurance, financial, and government institutions relating to document workflow infrastructure.

Part of team effort to get the Bethesda Programming Lab ISO9000 certified. This enabled products to be marketed in Europe.
