Something to think about……….There are three days in a week! Yesterday, today, and
tomorrow; two of which we should not concern ourselves.Yesterday is gone; it has passed forever beyond our control. All
the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word said. It’s gone.
Tomorrow – with all its possibilities, promises or burdens – tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.
Tomorrow may be “only a day away,” but tomorrow never really comes. Say what? That’s right, the moment you wake up to a new day, it’s called today, not tomorrow. So why do we spend so much time anticipating tomorrow?
“With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
This leaves only one day in which to be concerned – today. It is usually not the experience of “today” that causes us worry and fear – it is the remorse or bitterness for something that happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
“Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have; so spend it wisely.” ~Kay Lyons
Time is our most precious commodity, there isn’t an endless supply!
“Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die today.” ~ James Dean
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
TO ALL NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS!!
From Your Senior Regent’s Desk!
The Holidays are quickly approaching. Please keep your eyes open for the many activities we have at the lodge. Thank you to all who supported our Halloween festivities. The WOTM continue to sponsor the basket opportunity drawings at all of our various functions. A big THANK-YOU to all the woman who provide the baskets and everyone for their support.
A big Thank you to all the woman who have stepped up to cook and support the monthly breakfast that Oxnard Chapter is responsible for. The breakfasts are a big success because of your support and participation.
The WOTM are sponsoring a COCHINO COMEDY SHOW on Saturday November 14th. There will be baskets, food and drink specials. We hope to see all of you and your qualified guests at this event. Please see Lala, Cecilia, Bill Gonzales or myself for information and tickets.
We did a great job in October with our Christmas walk to benefit our residents at “Mooseheart” and “Moosehaven”. A big hug and thanks for the support. This year, I am asking the WOTM to help our Moose Legion in sponsoring our children’s Christmas party. There will be a box in the social quarters for donations of Christmas stocking stuffers. The Loyal Order and Women of the Moose will be providing stockings to each child in attendance. There is a sign-up sheet in the Social Quarters. This year we are asking each parent to provide an unwrapped toy for their child to receive from Santa. Read the instructions on the sign-up sheet for additional details or check with a LOOM or WOTM officer.
We will have our annual Moose Family Thanksgiving dinner on November 20th. We will be asking for volunteers to donate and cook turkeys and provide the fixings for this special meal. Please watch for the lists requesting dinner donations. We will also have a sign-up sheet so we can keep track of who will be attending the dinner including the number of participants from your family. We want to make sure we have enough food for those who plan to attend. Please make sure you sign up by the deadlines.
We continue with our Taco Tuesdays and meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays. Please sponsor your family and friends into our Chapter. We have to meet our goal in membership in order to earn the Award of Achievement. We would love to hear any suggestions regarding events
Until next time - big Hugs **Senior Regent Lala
And thank you to all Sponsors for asking your friends to join us in the fraternity. Membership growth allows us to continue to support Mooseheart, Moosehaven and the Community. Ask your friends to join today!
