Dear Parishioners, Thank you once again for your generosity in helping reach our goal of $24k this week in collections. I remain profoundly grateful for the generosity that has assisted us to get back on track, especially in light of COVID. Thank you for contributing, as you can, to the work of our parish. I invite all High School Youth to our kick off night; watching a movie and social distancing together. Bring your face mask and a lawn chair and we will see you after the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Sunday. Registration is open in person in the portico for Religious Education. You may also contin-ue to register online. This Monday we celebrate the Feast Day of the Holy Cross. We give thanks to God for the people and work of this parish. We also call to mind the many people who carry a heavy cross in this life. It has been brought to our attention that some of our pa-rishioners have been receiving text and E-mails from someone posing as Fr. Jesse. Do not respond to them, it is a scam. Fr. Jesse will never text or e-mail anyone to ask for money. Call the office if you have questions or concerns.

We will be changing the company that mails out our contribution envelopes. Envelopes will be sent out bi-monthly rather than month. The first mail out will be for November-December envelopes. We may have some glitches as we move from one company to the other. So… if you receive envelopes and you give electronically or do not use them and have asked that you be removed
from the mail out list, or you did not receive your enve-lopes and you use them and want to continue to receive them, please call the office and we will correct the errors. Thank you for your patience as we go through this change.

This year’s RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Program begins on Thursday, September 17. We will meet in the Main Church. There is no cost, no obligation, no commitment necessary. In a series of friendly, informative and spiritually exciting classes we will explore the major things Catholics believe and why. We will learn more about the Mass and what is happen-ing and why. Learn about prayer, scripture, sacraments and much more.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference at Santa Cruz Parish has continued to serve the needs of an average of 60 families a month during the summer representing 250 individu-als. We have continued to do this since the beginning of the pandemic. We have
had to adjust our process to comply with the social dis-tance guidelines. Every other Saturday we have Food Bank Distribution from 8 till 9 AM, now done with curbside service. The schedule for the next few months is as fol-lows: September 19; October 3, 17, and 19; November 14 and 28; December 12 and 26. Our members have provided families in need during the
summer months with assistance toward housing, utilities
and other pressing needs. We have changed our proce-
dures from visiting neighbors in their homes to conduct-
ing the visits over the phone to provide advice and coun-
sel regarding resources available along with financial as-
sistance during the pandemic. It is your generosity that
has allowed our conference to continue uninterrupted
assistance to those in need. We thank you for your sup-
port and pray for you at every meeting.
Fall Virtual Parent Information Sessions:
September 25 (9:00 – 10:30 am) † October 23 (9:00 – 10:30 am) St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School is a co-education col-
lege preparatory school that offers an extensive curriculum to
satisfy a variety of student interests. Due to current COVID-19
restrictions, we are not able to host our typical in person admis-
sions events for prospective families. However, we can still get
to know each other from a distance. Interested families are
invited to attend via zoom one of our Virtual Parent Information
Sessions to learn more about our school, take a virtual tour of
our beautiful campus, and hear about our admission process.
