Sacrament of Baptism Registration for the Sacrament of Baptism takes place by meeting with a priest. The child’s Birth Certificate is necessary at the time of registration.

Godparents must each present a Sponsor Certificate, signed by a priest of the Church they attend, stating that they are practicing Catholics & meet all SPONSOR REQUIREMENTS:

AGE 16 OR OLDER CONFIRMED MARRIED IN THE CHURCH (if married) CONSISTENTLY ATTENDING CHURCH (Sundays/Holydays)

Baptism dates cannot be scheduled until the SPONSOR CERTIFICATES are handed in. Parents and Godparents are required to attend one instructional class. Parents must be properly registered parishioners of Christ the King Church.

Parish Membership To be considered active members of CHRIST THE KING PARISH, each family and single adult must:

BE PROPERLY REGISTERED ATTEND SUNDAY MASS AT OUR CHURCH REGULARLY USE OUR WEEKLY ENVELOPES

This is the only way the parish can issue documents that attest to parish membership and Catholic practice.

(EG. SPONSOR CERTIFICATE TO BE A GODPARENT/CONFIRMATION SPONSOR)

New parishioners are requested to register at our parish office when possible. Office hours are 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Visits to the Sick & Homebound EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS are available to visit parishioners who are unable to come to Church due to injury or illness. Please contact the Rectory office (963-7474) to arrange for a home visit to receive the Sacraments.

Sacrament of Marriage Preliminary arrangements should be made at least one year prior to the proposed date of marriage. One of the parties must be a registered member of our parish and speak to a parish priest to enroll in marriage preparatory courses and book the date of their wedding.

Dear Parishioners,

Over two years ago, our full-time organist, Stephen Fraser, left us, and

Chuck Muckle joined us for four months as we searched for a new organist.

When we were unable to find a good fit for our parish and choir, we made

arrangements with several people on a temporary, part-time basis until we

found the right person to join us full-time.

With a little coaxing, our former organist Patricia Van Hee , agreed to

return to work with our choir and play at the 9:00 a.m. Mass. BINI RAMOS,

formerly at St. Eugene’s in Yonkers, agreed to play at two Masses. JOHN

FRANCO SCHRIPPA, formerly a substitute organist at Holy Trinity, agreed to

play at the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Mass, accompanied by BRADDON MEHRTEN as

cantor.

A few months ago, Patricia Van Hee let us know that she will be

moving to Colorado because of a job opportunity for her husband. That

prompted a renewed search for our new Director of Music. After placing

an ad in the AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS NEWSLETTER, I received several

inquiries. I interviewed the applicants and found that one stood out, not

only as the most qualified, but also as the best fit for Christ the King. I am

very pleased to announce that CELESTE JAMERSON was hired as Director of

Music and will begin next weekend, August 5th

, playing at all Masses.

I know that you join me in expressing our gratitude to Patricia, Bini,

John Franco and Brad, for their dedicated service to our parish. They were

very responsible and ready to be of help whenever called upon.

Please join me in prayer for Patricia Van Hee as she begins this new

chapter in her life with her family in Colorado. May they be blessed with

happiness and success.

GOOD BYE FATHER AGNELO This week FATHER AGNELO will return home to resume his regular duties in his parish. It was wonderful to have him with us once again and we are grateful for all he does for us. We will keep him in our prayers as we wish him safe travels and all the best in the year ahead.

As you know, we are trying to help a local gentleman find a boarder/roommate situation located within the North End (and walking distance to our Church). If you have a room to rent please call us in the Rectory office without delay at 963-7474.

GENERAL MASS INTENTIONS

On Tuesday, August 8th, the Mass Book will

open for all intentions from

January 1, 2018 - June 30, 2018.

There are a limited number of Sunday Masses.

You may request a total of

1 Sunday Mass and 5 weekday Masses

(for Jan-Jun) when the Mass book opens.

General requests may be scheduled for dates

in January - June of 2018 as of August 8th.

We are not opening July - December of 2018

for general requests at this time.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO COME TO THE OFFICE IN

PERSON TO SCHEDULE A MASS. We cannot schedule

requests by phone, however, you can send your

request by regular mail, drop it off at the office

(after-hours in the mail slot) or in the basket on

Sunday. If possible, use the form included in

this bulletin to send in your Mass request.

Copies are also available in the Rectory Office.

Please be sure to fill in the form completely and

include the stipend ($15/Mass).

Any requests received in advance will be

scheduled in the order in which they were

received, after we help the people who

come to the office in person. If the requested

date is not available, we will call you to

schedule an alternative date.
