Rewards and Managing Behaviour at ECS
Session aims: • Parents/Carers to understand the new
rewards system.• Parents and Carers to understand the
ways in which challenging behaviours is managed, in and outside the classroom.
ECS Minimum Expectations
A little task for you – which items of equipment are your children suppose to come to
school with everyday?
Students should bring the equipment below in a large bag suitable to carry A4 books.
What happens if my child does not have the correct equipment?
Essentially, it holds them back in terms of the prompt start we like to their learning.
They will be given equipment by the teacher.
This will be logged by the form tutor and the subject teacher will mark the student as having a 1 during the
lesson.
In Lessons:If a student is outstanding they are
awarded a 3.If they have been good they will be
awarded a 2.If they have not completed the work and had two warnings for low level
disruption they will be awarded with a 1.
8 – if their behaviour has been unacceptable, three or more warnings and little or no work
completed.
9 – if a student has had to be removed from the lesson. This will be
for persistent rudeness, no work, disruption to the learning of others.
All of these are logged on SIMS .
The 1 – 3 class points are all tallied up and linked to VIVO (more details on this later).
8 = half an hour detention on the day of the offence.
2 or more 8s = 45 minutes on the day of offence.
9 = 45 minutes on the day of offence.
Parents/Carers ae informed via text.
There is a direct correlation between students who are present and punctual to school to the grades they get at
GCSE.
We monitor attendance and punctuality very closely.
If a student is late they will stay behind for half an hour on the same day.
A text is sent home to parents /carers.
Out of lessons:Student Managers gather
information of the incident and statements are collected.
A student may be given:• A warning
• Parent/carer informed of the incident.
• Detention – phase or school.• Seclusion
• Internal exclusion• Fixed Term exclusion.
