CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Congratulations to, Eric “Rick” Geyer President/CEO of
Geyer’ Markets Inc. was recently inducted into North Cen-
tral Ohio’s Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame.
The 13th annual induction was held on April 24th at the
Ralph Phillips Conference Center at the Kehoe Center.
Tramec-Sloan, the parent company of Crawford Machine located in Galion,
Ohio is set to expand operations and will be adding 90 jobs in Crawford Coun-
ty. According to reports in the Galion Inquirer, the proposed project involves
an expansion representing a “63 percent increase for a plant in a small town”.
The expansion will include the purchase of new equipment in addition to the
new employment opportunities. Hiring will be handled locally by the Human
Resource Team at the Galion facility located at 1310 Freese Works Place.

The 13th Annual McDonald’s/Galion- Crestline Area Chamber of
Commerce Golf outing is scheduled for June 18th at the Galion
Country Club. This event is a great opportunity to network, promote
your business, support the chamber, and raise money for Ronald
McDonald House Charities. To date we have raised nearly $19,000
for this great cause.

FARMERS MARKETS IN GALION & CRESTLINE TO OPEN IN MAY
GALION: The NorthSide Farmers Market will be kicking off the sea-son on Tuesday, May 5 at 4:30 in its new location at Heise Park. The market will be filled with spring products straight from local farms and will be held every Tuesday from 4:30-6:30 through mid-October. Local producers will bring their fruits, vegetables, honey, maple syrup and baked goods. On the last Tuesday of each month, local artist and craftsmen will round out the market by showcasing their hand-made products. The market is also pleased to announce that many vendors will be able to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) at the market this season. SNAP recipients may bring their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to the market and obtain tokens that may be used to purchase fresh, local vegetables, fruits, honey and preserves, among other products. The NorthSide Farmers market is proud to champion the local foods movement and the associated environmental, economic and health benefits. Please support your local farmers by planning to attend! th and will be open weekly on Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. through
October 27th. The market is hosted by Crestline First United Method-
ist Church, and is located at 202 N. Thoman Street (Route 61, two blocks south of McDonalds). The market will feature in-season pro-duce from local farmers, crafts, and baked goods. Some of the ven-dors include Witter produce, Bill’s Bakery, Gibson Orchard, and Paynter Family Farm (grass-fed, organic meats from Crestline). Crestline First United Methodist Pastor Rev. Becky Weamer will offer outdoor Market Communion every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. All are wel-come! The church will also host a prayer booth for those who wish to receive prayer or a blessing. Plans for occasional health fairs and “Market Music” are also underway. Vendors who are interested in participating are encouraged to contact Market Manager Becky Witter at 419-562-6800.
