Build a vibrant credit union system by acng as the channel for employees to establish and sustain strong, professional relaonships with their peers. 2019 CUMA Conference & Tradeshow Delta Hotel, Regina Thanks to everyone who aended the 2019 CUMA Conference and Tradeshow at the Delta Hotel, Regina April 25-26 2019. The event was well aended. The aendees were treated to presentaons by: Michael (Pinball) Clemons, Canadian football legend and Founder of the Pinball Clemons Foundaon. Pinball engaged the enre audience with his energy, wit and compelling story of leadership—its all about the people. In breakout sessions, Keith Nixon, CEO of SaskCentral provided an update on the Saskatchewan and Canadian credit union system, leading into the future. Barry Bundus, Manager of Fraud Management, SaskCentral spoke about current security and fraud issues and how to combat them. Pauline Meunier, Master Trainer for the Mental Health Commission of Canada shared her story of idenfying, treang and supporng those with mental health challenges. Neil Pasricha, author and speaker inspired aendees with his story, overcoming difficules embracing fun, humour and the Three As of Awesome.

2019 CUMA Conference & Tradeshow

Delta Hotel, Regina

Thanks to everyone who attended the 2019 CUMA Conference and Tradeshow at the Delta

Hotel, Regina April 25-26 2019. The event was well attended.

The attendees were treated to presentations by:

Michael (Pinball) Clemons, Canadian football legend and Founder of the Pinball Clemons

Foundation. Pinball engaged the entire audience with his energy, wit and compelling story

of leadership—it’s all about the people.

In breakout sessions, Keith Nixon, CEO of SaskCentral provided an update on the

Saskatchewan and Canadian credit union system, leading into the future. Barry Bundus,

Manager of Fraud Management, SaskCentral spoke about current security and fraud

issues and how to combat them.

The CUMA 2019 Charity donation recipient was Canadian Mental Association (Saskatchewan branch).

Kevin Schilling joined the credit union system in 2003 as a

branch manager in Ontario. Previous to this he worked in a

number of different roles in the life insurance industry across

Canada. He moved to Saskatchewan in 2014 to become the

branch manager for Synergy Credit Union’s Marsden Service

Centre. He enjoys the variety of his current role which includes

CUDF adjudication and a part-time licensed wealth advisor. He

lives in Neilburg with his wife Cheryl, enjoys golfing and playing

hockey.

Welcome New CUMA Executive

2018 marked Tana’s 20th year in the credit union system.

Tana began her career with a Financial Services diploma from

Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She was hired by Spectra Credit

Union in the Wealth Management Department and later

moved into Marketing. She progressed to the Manager of

Human Resources and Marketing with Plainsview Credit

Union and then into her current role of VP of Marketing with

Weyburn CU. Tana also holds the FCUIC designation. It was in

Weyburn that Tana won five AIME awards for her work

around branding. Outside of work Tana is mom to a 17 year

old son, Merrick, and is busy running with sports. Tana

recently joined the Board of Directors of the Weyburn Arts

Council and is a budding artist herself but joined more to

promote the arts community in Weyburn

Shawn Osier grew up in Penticton, BC and Regina, SK. He began his

banking career in 2003 with a chartered FI which took his family to

Saskatoon, Davidson and back to Regina. He has held a few posi-

tions in the banking industry including frontline, sales, national sales

for south SK and leadership positions. The last 4 years has been

spent as a Branch Manger for Plainsview Credit Union in Emerald

Park, SK. Shawn is currently the Social Media Coordinator with the

Regina Mortgage and Loans Association and has been involved with

this association for 8 years. Shawn has been married for 16 years

and has 3 children. He enjoys reading, outdoor recreation, exercise,

spending time with his family and relaxation.
