AgriTech India
AgriTech India is an annual exhibition organized for the growers, wholesalers, importers,
exporters and all other stakeholders of every segment of Agriculture and Farm Machinery,
Equipment and allied sectors who want to expand and diversify their activities. This
exhibition showcases the use of latest technology in post-harvesting, value addition in
processing of food, packaging and check on wasteful expenditure . The 6th edition of
AgriTech India was organized by the Media today group at Bangalore from 22nd to 24th
August 2014 with the support of Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Food Processing
Industries and National Horticulture Mission, Government of India .
With the initiative of Odisha Investment and Export Promotion Office (OIEPO), New Delhi to
promote the Agri business and Food processing of the State, Government of Odisha
participated in AgriTech India 2014 . Officials from Directorate of Agriculture and Food
Production, Directorate of Horticulture, Directorate of Industries, Odisha Rural
Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) and State Mission on NMFP along with OIEPO
joined this event.
ORMAS participated in this event to promote the rural products produced by its rural
producers. In this respect ,it
showcased its products like Maize,
Cashew Nut, Ground nut, Honey, Red
gram, Green gram, Turmeric and
Kendujharee Phula badi which are
unique and organic by nature. As
most of the products were grown
mainly in tribal belts of Odisha,
chemical fertilizers and pesticides are
not used in their production process.
These products were procured from
producer collectives in the livelihood clusters of different districts of Odisha.

The products were displayed in traditional pots made up of cane(called Gauni, Sera, Kuncha
in Odia)with a price tag attached to it, which became a centre of attraction among visitors.
People visited to the ORMAS stall were buyers as well as the public, who were eager to
know more about these rural products from Odisha. These visitors were from all over India
with a majority of them from Southern parts of India. Among the buyers, there were
traders, exporters and some were distributors, who showed lot of interest in our
products(Detail list is attached in Annexure-1).
Sample were taken by lot of visitors to look at the quality/taste/composition of the
products. The prospective buyers were interested to know about: quality, volume,
packaging, organic nature, certification, FSSSI (Food safety standards authority of India) etc.
There was a very high demand for products like: Maize, Ground nut, Cashew nut, Tamarind
and Turmeric.
