All licensed employees are to receive an orientation to the evaluation process within 10 workdays of their first day.

All licensed staff complete a self-assessment each year. The self-assessment is not collected, but should be usedto develop PDP's.

All licensed staff complete a PDP each year. Individuals should use input from any summative data from theprevious year for those who received one.

PDP's: All teachers receive an initial review, a mid-year review and an end-of-year review. Mentor collaborationand signatures are a required part of this process for beginning teachers.

Pre-conferences and post-conferences shall be held in the teacher's classroom.

A teacher shall have the following documents available during the pre-conference, which is held prior to the1st formal observation: a completed self-assessment, a draft Professional Development Plan, and the lesson plan.

Formal observations should last at least 45 minutes. Remember to document the start and stop times.

Informal observations do not require a pre-conference, but they should last at least 20 minutes ( Start/stop time)

Writing comments is not optional. Comments are needed to provide clarification and suggestions for growth.

Post-conferences for observations shall be conducted within 10 school days.

For any form with a required signature section, the signature dates must match for all signatures. In other words,do not "sign" a document prior to post-conferences and PDP reviews.

If an employee refuses to sign a document, write a letter to the employee and include the following information:This purpose of this letter is to document the post-conference I held in your classroom on xx/xx/xxxx. At the end of the conference, you refused to sign the evaluation. The on-line signature box states that the teachers signature on the form represents neither acceptance nor approval of the report. It does, however, indicate that the teacher has reviewed the report with the evaluator and may add written comments. The principals signature is the only required signature. The teachers signature formally documents the review of the report, but the data from the report will still be valid and in compliance. Please be aware that I am sending a copy of this letter to the HR department to be placed in your personnel file.Send a copy of the letter to me to place in his/her file.

If performance issues arise, the principal should promptly contact the HR Department for guidance.

Teachers are expected to provide any data or information relative to their performance to the administration in atimely manner throughout the school year at post-conferences. These conferences should occur in the teacher's classroom.

Administrative interns are not eligible to conduct any observations. This includes peer observations.
