Talk Homework: We feel that this is a really valuable activity and has a very positive impact on the quality of the ‘Friday Write’. There is no need to do any writing or bring in any paperwork.

Fantastic Friday – Friday 4th July

Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is

at a cost of £1.90. The menu is:

Spicy cheese pizza and chips, jacket potato, and ice fruit smoothie.

Week 2 menu will be served next week.

To be ready for : Friday 4th July 2014

Please talk to your child about the topic for their class. They will be writing about it on Friday and your discussions will really help. You could talk about the great ideas and words that they could use. Thank you.

Reception Go to the park and hunt for the ‘Gruffalo’. …be careful though! Talk about what you see, hear, feel and smell. Draw a map of your hunt and then talk through your Gruffalo hunt.

Year 1 Tell an adult about the new character you have chosen for our Owl Babies story-describe them! What could they say?

Year 2 Tell your grown up all about the Island of Struay (Katie’s Island). You are going to write an information page about the island. What sub-headings will you use?

Year 3 Talk to an adult about our local area and how we can make it safer. You are going to write a letter explaining your concerns and what your ideas are for solving the problem.

Year 4 Have a look in magazines to see if you can find any game reviews, look at the different features. What sub-headings can you find?

Year 5 Talk to your family about your visit to Witton Park Academy to watch Bugsy Malone. You are going to write a review.

Year 6 Talk about your reading book. Review it like a critic with your adult. Talk about your own story. What would people say about it?

UniformIt is very important all children come to school in the correct school uniform. All children

must wear a blue polo shirt and maroon cardigan/jumper. Girls must wear a grey skirt/pinafore/trousers and grey/plain white socks. Boys must wear grey trousers and

plain white socks. During warmer days, girls can wear a blue summer dress with white tights/leggings and boys can wear grey shorts. Black school shoes must be worn at all times. Full school PE kits must be in school at all times. All children must have dark

blue shorts, red poloshirt, plain white socks and black pumps/trainers. During the cold weather, children can wear dark blue/black tracksuit bottoms.

No type of jewellery should be worn in school. If your child is wearing a headband to school, please ensure it is plain, to avoid any kind of injuries.
