Assisted by the unflappable Jeeves, Bertie instead entertains the audience with an improvised account of how he and two chums - with, as one song puts it, "a collective I.Q. of around 42" - all got their names and identities confused in the course of one riotously raucous weekend. This tale of escalating chaos and labyrinthine high jinx unfolds to the accompaniment of one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most vivacious and sprightly scores. BY JEEVES cleverly intertwines the twin English passions for amateur theatrics and bumbling silliness, taking us back to a time when flirty girls pursued men, not careers, and where good breeding took precedence over brainpower. Junior Skills WorkshopsWould you like to spend the months of late July, August and September polishing your theatre skills and rehearsing a one-act play for performance at the state Youth Fest?

If the answer is “YES” and you are aged between 12 and 17 (or 10-11 if you have previous ‘junior workshop’ experience) contact Bree and Daniel for more information on 9495 2510 or 0405 730029.

Starting on the last Saturday of the July school holidays we will be rehearsing twice a week (tues evening and sat morning). Participants will gain valuable experience and have a great time. ☺

of Lucy Charlotte Wright. Proud parents Rachel and Paul Wright welcomed another girl into their family on 30th May 2007.

She weighed in at 7lb, 61/2 oz and arrived at 3:31pm.

Rachel was happy to report that both she and little Lucy are doing well.

Our 75th Anniversary is coming…

The Theatre is preparing for its 75th

anniversary celebrations to be held next year. We are requesting that members who have photographs of the Theatre and/or some of its productions, especially in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60’s, contact Zyg (details at the back of the callboy). Zyg can get them scanned and the originals can be returned to you. A huge photography exhibition is being planned and as many images as possible are required for display.

Any ideas for this celebration will be warmly welcomed by your Committee.

Christmas in JulyWOW. Thankyou to the organisers of the very fun, very loud and very enjoyable Xmas in July dinner held recently. A highlight of the evening was the balloon tower challenge, as seen in the two top photos… it didn’ttake much for the competitive spirit to come to the surface!

This includes the auditorium and toilets. The public areas will then be maintained by the Front of House staff.

State Youth FestThe theatre has been approached regarding hosting the 2007 State Youth Fest at Roleystone Theatre.

The event is on Saturday 15thSeptember and is a great opportunity for our theatre. Please contact Daniel Ramsell (0405730029) if you would like to helpout either in the kiosk or behind the scenes.

LIQUOR LAWS

As you may have seen in various advertisements, there have recently been changes made to the Liquor Licensing Act.Some of these changes affect our bar and as such we are offering a free Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training course to those interested in helping behind the bar. It is mandatory that bar staff have this course under their belt. The course will be running one Thursday evening in August.
