Bob has many new ideas and has a board that is excited to continue the wonderful accomplishments that happened in 2016-2017 and to accelerate the good works that our club does for the community and the world. Rotary Spray Volume 17 Number 24 Outgoing President, Paul Pieschel, gave us a recap of the great year we had in Rotary in which membership increased a net of 4% with 10 different Rotarians sponsoring new members. Also of note is our total giving which includes charitable giving (14 charities), Scholarship Fund, Rotabucks, and many other totally $107,487. Paul also celebrated Rotarian Virginia Ellis who is a polio survivor and gave a moving story of her struggle growing up with polio. That makes what Rotary is doing internationally to eradicate the devastating disease even more meaningful. Paul received a standing ovation for his outstanding job as President.

Outgoing President, Paul Pieschel, gave us a recap of the great year we had in Rotary in which membership increased a net of 4% with 10 different Rotarians sponsoring new members. Also of note is our total giving which includes charitable giving (14

charities), Scholarship Fund, Rotabucks, and many other totally $107,487. Paul also celebrated Rotarian Virginia Ellis

Governor, installed the new board members at the June 27th meeting.

Honoring Carrene (CG) Rosser Mary Beth Wester recognized CG Rosser who our Club sponsored in this years’s Tribute to Women’s Leaders promoted by the YMCA of Brunswick.

Paul Pieschel received the Paul Harris Fellow Award with 2

sapphires, which represents Paul Harris Plus 2.

Other Club Announcements

Bob Brown designed a new pin for our Club and he presented one for each Club

member. The pins were also distributed at the recent

International Convention in Atlanta to delegates from more than 166 nations around the world. SSI Rotary is spread far and wide with the distribution of these pins.

Ø Te Turner brought a banner from Oxford, England after his recent trip to England with his wife, Kathleen.

Ø David Sharpe was approved for membership by the board. Ø Larry Daughtery had to resign from the Club due to a change in his business Ø Happy Dollars $300 was given to Brian Muldowney, son of Mike and Nancy

Muldowney, to offset the cost of his rehabilitation from a terrible bike accident Ø Beverly Trainor won Rotabucks pot of $43!
