The Pöttinger combinedsystem rolls any material: wet or dryl The chain conveyor in the
rear section starts rolling thebale sooner so that the balecore is more dense.
l The heavy-duty rollers in thefront section ensure that thebale is finished properly andthat the highest possibledensity is achieved.
Less material lossl Experience has shown that
balers with rollers in the rearsection lose material. ThePöttinger baler has a fully-enclosed tailgate to keep los-ses to a minimum.
Reliable and tight twine tyingl Netting is fed into the cham-
ber from above, eliminating
the risk of snaring in thepickup or cutter rotor as onstraight bar conveyor balers.No crop required in pickupchannel.
Fast bale ejectionl The tailgate can be opened
with the baler running atoperating speed because thebar conveyor is only fitted torear section and does nothave to cross a hinge.
Smooth-running: long-lifel The drive train and chain
conveyor are relatively shortto ensure smooth runningand low wear.

only, the crop catchesbetween the rollers. Thelarger the rollers the higherthe power requirement andthe higher the loss.
Better silageThe combined system ensuresthat even wet, non-wilted cropscan be rolled into bales noproblem. The chain conveyorstarts rolling the bale and theheavy-duty bottom rollersachieve a very high density(especially on the 3200 model).
Professionals roll bales with Pöttinger
High densities of 15 to 20 % arepossible so that the bales areheavier and yield better qualitysilage. The bales are also easierto take apart later.Heavy duty scrapers make surethe crop moves in to the balechamber and keep the rotorclean (Pöttinger balers alsofeature scrapers between eachfeed tine).Knife bank pivots hydraulicallyby pressing a button from thedriver’s seat.No tools required to removeknives making sharpeningeasy. The number of knives can alsobe quickly changed. A coverplate is fitted when the knifebank is removed so thatoperation can continue withoutlosses.

Heavy-duty knives with indi-vidual protection enables eachknife to pivot clear of foreignobjects and then reset auto-matically to its operating posi-tion.Perfect net tying system forperfect balesThe netting is also fed into thebale chamber. After tying thenetting is cut and stopped by aguillotine. It is not possible forthe net to be dragged into thechamber.
The number of rotations can beadjusted over a wide range.
Strong 2-twine tying systemon optionTwo carriages guide the paral-lel twines back and forth, crea-ting a reinforced binding in thecentre and around the edges ofthe bale. The number of rota-tions can be adjusted over awide range.Automatic tyingTying is started electrically andcarried out automatically. Thestart and finish of the tyingprocess is signalled by a horn.
