The Round Rock Express raced past the San Antonio Missions by a final score of 11-4 on Saturday night at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Round Rock added another run as Jones raced home on a fielding error by San Antonio RF Nate Orf. The Missions responded with a solo run in the bottom of the first, however Round Rock responded with three more in the third as Jones lined a three-run shot to deep left field. An inning later, Tanielu homered before CF Stephen Wrenn tripled and trotted home on a Jamie Ritchie sacrifice fly. In the sixth, Mayfield scored on another Missions fielding error. Tucker added the final Express run of the night in the eighth via a solo home run. San Antonio 2B Keston Hiura scored three runs for his team with a pair of home runs in the final two frames, but Round Rock held on for the 11-4 win. THE NEED FOR SNEED Round Rock RHP Cy Sneed is set to make his second consecutive start in this afternoon's regularly scheduled contest. TUCKER ON FIRE After a slow start to the season, Chupacabras LF Kyle Tucker has found his rhythm. In his last 14 games, including Friday night's not-yet- official suspended game, Tucker is hitting .333 (18-54) with four doubles, seven homers and 15 RBI, upping his batting average from .095 to a season-high .223. Tucker has homered in six of his last nine games. NO RUNNING San Antonio RF Nate Orf's first-inning steal last night marked the first time since April 27 that an opponent has stolen a base against Round Rock. In fact, the Chupacabras have allowed just two stolen bases since April 13. Round Rock catchers have permitted only 12 total steals in 27 games so far in 2019. WELCOME TO THE PCL Round Rock CF Stephen Wrenn made his Triple-A debut last night, going 2-5 with a triple and a run scored. The speedy outfielder led the Texas League in steals with 44 as a member of the Double-A Corpus Christi Hooks a season ago. The Express and Missions faced off 120 times as members of the Double-A Texas League from 2000-2004 with Round Rock holding a 63-57 edge in the series. NOT SLOWING DOWN OF Kyle Tucker's eighth inning blast last night gave Round Rock 50 home runs on the season, the third- most in the PCL.
