PEP: Personal Education Planning

PEP is the RCGP’s learning needs assessment programme.

These online self-assessment tools help you to identify your learning needs for GP training, continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation.

By asking a series of MCQ based on everyday GP scenarios, you can spot the strengths and weaknesses in your current knowledge and so help you plan your own personalised educational programme.

The PEP tools are integrated with the Revalidation ePortfolio so that your completion certificate and overall scores can be automatically uploaded when you are reviewing your CPD log.

Put patients first: Back general practice campaign

- Demanding that the governments of the UK increase funding for general practice from an historic low of 8.39% to 11% of the UK NHS budget by 2017.

- This should lead to:

Shorter waiting times for appointments and more flexible opening hours

Longer consultations, especially for those with long term conditions

Improved care co-ordination and planning for the frail elderly and those with complex needs

The ability to access more services closer to home, without the need to travel to hospital.
