INTRODUCTION
Senator Stone Supply Ltd. holds a property with marble building stone potential
in Faraday Township, Bancroft area, Southern Ontario Mining Division.
During the 1994 field season, Senator Stone evaluated the potential ot this
oroperty by conducting a program ot diamond drilling, overburden stripping, and roc K
trenching. The program, which was designated OM 94-032, was supervised by an
experienced quarry master, and was designed to determine:
1- the potential size and consistency of the desirable rock unit, and
2- the average size of block that could be quarried, and its ease ot extraction, and
3- the colour, texture, and pattern of rock slabs after cutting and polishing, ana
4- the marketability of the finished product.
l his report describes the work that was performed, and the results that were obtained

Location and Access
The property is situated in the central eastern portion or Faraday Township,
about 3 miles (5 kms) southeast of the town of Bancroft. It consists of mining claim
SO 1156528 in Lot 41, and Lot 42, along the eastern boundary of Faraday Township.
The property is easily reached by Highway 62, 3.5 miles (5.6 kms) south from
Bancroft.
-3- General Geology
The Faraday property lies within the Grenville Structural Province ot the
Canadian Precambrian Shield, within a broad belt ot marble metasediments in the
general east-west trending Hastings Basin.
1994OMIP Program
The work consisted primarily of diamond drilling, overburden stripping, and
rocK trenching.
Four holes were drilled for a total footage ot 341 feet (104 meters). All ot the
holes were drilled into a marble unit to obtain information on colour, texture, pattern,
fracture density, and hardness of marble, and also to oPtain data on its size, continuity,
and homogeneity. Table 1 summarizes the Faraday diamond drilling program.
Appendix 1 contains a Drill Plan. Drill Sections, and Drill Logs for each of the 4 holes.
The marble encountered in the Faraday drilling program is attractively coloured
and textured, and structurally competent, and so 2 sites were selected for overburden
stripping and rock trenching.
Roads were built to each site to facilitate the installation ot heavy equipment and
the removal ot rough cut stone blocks. As more and more ot the favourable marble
rock units were exposed, the sites were enlarged.
The rock trenches were not opened by conventional blasting techniques, thus
eliminating the possibility ot any blast-induced fracturing, instead, a wire saw was set
up, and after drilling pairs of intersecting pilot holes in pre-determined locations, the

wire was fished through the holes, and cuts were made to produce the desired shape
and size of the specific block. Several blocks were cut in this manner. The extracted
blocks averaged approximately 6.5' x 3.5' x 5.0' (2m x 1m x 1.5m) in size, and weighed
8- 10 tons.
The resultant rock trench is shown in Figure 1. It is approximately 100' x 80'
(30m x 24m ) in size, and 15' (5m) deep.
The extracted rough blocks were shipped for finishing and display to Italy.
Japan, and the U.S. The stone has been given the trade name "Temagami Pink",
and is currently being displayed for marketing.

Conclusions
The 1994 field program successfully located a marble deposit of suitable colour,
texture, pattern, and size as to be potentially marketable.
Recommendations
Polished slab samples of the Faraday marble should be distributed, and
displayed at building stone trade shows in order to secure sales contracts.
Other DOtential building stone sites in the immediate area should be examined
and evaluated for their suitability and marketability.
