INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a ground magnetometer survey carried out during the winter of
2004 on the Sanshaw-Bonanza property in Dome township, Red Lake area, Ontario. The survey
work was required because the claim is physically separated from the main body of the Sanshaw
property, and has never been explored before, lying as it does entirely under water.
PROPERTY
The property covered by the present survey is a single claim of 3 units, No. KRL1244614, recorded
on 02 July 2002. It is held by Perry English, and is under option to Red Lake Resources Inc. and
Grandcru Resources Corporation.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The claim is situated 3 km north of the town of Red Lake, in Dome Township. It lies entirely under
the water of Red Lake, on the northeast side of Pine Island. Access for exploration purposes in
winter is extremely easy. Most years, an ice road is open between the towns of Red Lake and
Cochenour, and the ice road crosses the property. Figure l shows the general location of the
property, and figure 3 shows the area in detail.
HISTORY AND PREVIOUS WORK
There is no evidence that any exploration has ever been carried out in the area of claim 1244614.
GEOLOGY
Figure 2 shows the regional geology of the Red Lake - Birch Lake area of northwestern Ontario. The
Red Lake belt is a small but complex greenstone belt including a wide array of volcanic and
sedimentary rocks that range in age from 3.0 Ga to 2.7 Ga. The property lies close to the northern
margin of the Dome stock, an oval granodiorite intrusion at the centre of the Red Lake belt. Because
the property lies under water, existing geological maps do not indicate whether the property lies
inside or outside the Dome stock.

SURVEY PROGRAM
Line Cutting
A baseline was laid out on the ice of Red Lake, with the northwest end (OOOE/OOON) at a point
defined by OPS as UTM 441762 m east, 5656142 m north (NAD 83 datum, Zone 15). The baseline
was laid out in a direction of 130.30 (relative to UTM grid north). Cross lines were established at
25 metre intervals, with pickets at 25 metre intervals. The grid emplacement was performed by
Dusan Dmitrovic and Ted Cox.
Survey Instrumentation and Method
The magnetic survey was carried out using an EDA Omni Plus system. This is an integrated
magnetometer in which readings are stored digitally and dumped to a file at the end of each day's
survey activity. A recording base station was used, which automatically corrects for diurnal variation
at the time of dumping. The instrument was used in gradiometer mode, with a two sensors 50 cm
apart. The gradiometer readings were rejected (because of noisy data, possibly caused by a faulty
lower sensor) in favour of the calculated magnetic residual (see below).
Readings were taken at 12.5 metre intervals throughout the grid. A total of 1,232 readings were
recorded. Data were processed using Geosoft software for data posting, gridding, filtering and
contouring.
Data Presentation
The survey results are presented on five maps at 1:2,000 scale: (1) total field magnetic data postings;
(2) total field magnetic contours; and (3) residual contours.
The "residual" is produced by two-dimensional filtering of gridded total field data, and the result is
closely similar to a calculated second derivative. It works well for surveys over lakes, because high
frequency noise from near-surface features is eliminated. The residual filter converts positive peaks
to positive numbers and negative peaks to negative numbers. Inflection points result in zero values,
so the zero contour will theoretically track geological contacts. This is particularly useful in
highlighting weakly magnetic units whose total field expression is partially masked by nearby strong
-3-
magnetic anomalies. Because the filter is two-dimensional, it does not impose any trends or
directionality on the resulting data, other than trends resulting from the original total-field gridding.
Hence,it works best where the line spacing is close enough (as in the present survey) to avoid linear
anomalies being broken up into "strings of pearls" by the gridding process
Magnetic Survey Results
The total field magnetic data reveal a progressive gradient rising from 58740 nT at the south end of
the grid to 59150 nT at the north end. This gradient is the flank of a strong anomaly caused by an
iron formation a few hundred metres to the north. There are numerous irregularities in the gradient
that are caused by weaker magnetic features.
The residual data highlight the irregularities in the magnetic field and resolve them into a series of
more or less linear anomalies. Figure 4 shows the residual magnetic grid superimposed on the OGS
geological map of Dome Township. Interpreted contacts are also shown. It is reasonably clear that
there is a layered series of rock units whose strike direction curves slightly across the survey area,
conformably with the large-scale fold defined by the volcanic-sedimentary contact just to the north.
Therefore it can be inferred that the bulk of the survey area is underlain by volcanics and/or
sediments, and lies outside the Dome stock.
The most southwesterly residual anomaly, which runs from 300E/260S to 500E/285S, may correlate
with a diorite lens which is mapped on the northeast shore of Pine Island. If this interpretation is
correct, the contact of the Dome stock lies just within the southwestern boundary of the property.
Figure 4 also shows three provisionally interpreted faults, based on apparent offsets of magnetic
units.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The magnetic survey of the Sanshaw-Bonanza north claim has yielded results that allow an
interpretation of the geology of the claim. It is likely that the contact of the Dome stock lies close

to the southwestern boundary of the claim, with generally east-west striking volcanics and/or
sediments underlying the majority of the area. Three possible fault or shear structures have been
provisionally interpreted from apparent offsets of magnetic units. One of these, with an ENE-WSW
trend, when extrapolated eastwards, is on trend with gold mineralization on the Follansbee property
2 km to the east.
Gold mineralization on the main Sanshaw property to the southeast occurs in the marginal zones of
the Dome stock, where it is cut by the Flat Lake - Howey Bay deformation zone. The contact of the
Dome stock is therefore an exploration target, especially where it appears to intersect possible
structures as interpreted on fig 4.
It is recommended that three exploratory diamond drill holes be put down on the Sanshaw north
claim to gain geological information. These should be located as follows:
(1) Collar coordinates 325E/025S, azimuth ISO0 , dip -550, depth 200 m, to test east-trending
interpreted structure.
(2) Collar coordinates 375E/175S, azimuth 2200 , dip -55", depth 200 m, to test contact of Dome
stock with associated magnetic anomaly (diorite?)
(3) Collar coordinates 525E/200S, azimuth 180", dip -550, depth 200 m, to test intersection of
Dome stock contact with interpreted fault/shear.
