PREFACE

.

It is possible that theoretical knowledge can be fully obtained in classroom,

but practical knowledge can’t be found printed in books. For the point of view of

students like us, to get just a degree does not help. In this 21st century, students need

to be marketable i.e. having enough know how about the practical things.

Our training has undergoing at “RAJASTHAN STATE MINES &

MINERALS LTD.” For 60 days between 4th June to 3rd August, 2015. In over

report we would like to cover all the information, which are required in plant

training.

We have tried our best to present this report in such a way that if

would give the required information and meaningful idea about the

industry that we have visited.

ABSTRACT

Rajasthan state mines and minerals (RSMM) limited is one of the public sector

enterprises of the Government of Rajasthan, primarily engaged in mining and

marketing of industrial minerals in Rajasthan. The very objective of the company is

to achieve cost effective technology innovations in the mining of minerals and to

diversify into mineral based downstream projects. Besides minerals, RSMML has also

jumped into Energy Sector and has setup 106.3 MW installed capacity wind power

project at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

It operates one of the largest and fully mechanized. Mines in the country at

Jhamarkotra ,26km from Udaipur

The focus of this company lies increase growth and productivity. It has becomes a

global pioneer inn open cast mining and beneficiation of carbonate rock phosphate.

Present day RSMML comprises of various division working under overall control of

corporate office at Udaipur. It deals in four major industry minerals m=namely

phosphate gypsum low silica limestone and green marble.

Rajasthan state Mines and Mineral Limited is one of the premier

public sector enterprises of government of Rajasthan, is a new name of

erstwhile M/s Bikaner gypsum limited, a private sector company which

had commended the mining of gypsum in Bikaner in Rajasthan State

Mines & Minerals Limited (RSMML) is one of the premier public

sector enterprises of the Government of Rajasthan, primarily engaged

in mining and marketing of industrial minerals in the state. The very

objective of the company is to achieve cost effective technological

innovations in the mining of minerals and to diversify into mineral

based downstream projects. Apart from the above the Company is also

aiming at long-term fuel supply to lignite based power projects, apart

from setting up wind energy farms at Jaisalmer. This company is

1.1 TODAY:

Today RSMML comprises of various separate divisions working under

overall control of corporate office at under at Udaipur. Today it deals

in four major industries minerals, rock phosphate, natural gypsum, low

silica limestone and green marble.

1.2 ACTIVITES:

The current activities of RSMML, Jhamar Kotra as rock Phosphate is

concerned are:-

1. Mining and marketing of high grade rock phosphate

ore Jhamar Kotra, Udaipur.

2. Mining and basification of low-grade rock

phosphate to produce high-grade rock phosphate

concerned at its IBP at Jhamar Kotra, Udaipur.

3. Manufacturing and selling of low-grade ore as

phosphate fertilizer called RAJPHOS for direct

application.

4. Export of granulated single super phosphate.

1.3 MARKETING:

The marketing of JKT rocks phosphate is full of logistics problems.

The land lacked occurrence of the deposit and meter gauge railway

linkage possess a serious problem / bottle neck in transportation of the

mined production.

2.1 SHOVEL:

After blasting the fragmental material, it is loaded in to dumper by

hydraulic excavator, at over burden. One hydraulic excavator can load

10-12 dumper in one hour. These excavators also load over rock

material.

The shovel used in RSMML JKT mines is hydraulically operated.

There are 5 hydraulically operated shovels and shoe shovel.

3.1 INTRODUCATION:

A dumper is heavy- duty diesel truck in which the body can be lifted

off the chassis by hydraulic pressure. These are pneumatic wheeled,

high speed and high maneuver-ability trucks with short-chassis and

strong dupable bodies. The dumping may be done in the front or in the

side of in the rear, but in out R.S.M.M. Ltd Mines only rear used.

These heavy duty dampers are very useful short hauls on rough road. At

Jhamar Kotara Mine, there are HD- 785-2BH/-85 AND 15 Noa. Of 85 T

dumpers. The cost of each dumper. The cost of each dumper is approx 3.00

3.2.4 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

In a dumper, a air is attached with engine and this compressor

gets power from crank shaft. This compressed air is stored in three of

four air tanks. This compressed air is used in horns, brakes and wiper.

Gear shifting change the gears, there is shift tower in operator’s cabin

this shift tower is shifted automatically of hand shift. Two Attachments

micro switch and magnet is attached with shift selector. The control is

body seven solenoid present.

For electric system in at HAULPAK, from 12 V D.C. batteries

are used and all electric system is controlled by a panel which take

place under operator’s cabin.

3.2.5 HOSTING AND STEERING SYSTEM

For hoisting and steering, we use hydraulic system in which

compresses oil given enough pressure. This hydraulic oil is stored on tank.

3.2.6 BRAKES

Engine attached air compressor produces compressed air,

which is filtered in air receiver tank and emergency tank. When we

apply pressure on brake paddle, air is supplied to servo through relay

valve. This relay valve is adjusted at 10 kg/ cm2 pressure and is

operated automatically through slack adjusted further brake engaging

and discs.

3.2.7 SUSPENTION

In heavy – duty trucks or dumpers. We use 4 suspensions or shockers

in the place of leaf spring like a truck or bus etc. these suspensions are absorb

all the vibration. In dumper two rear and front suspension are used for this

purpose. In constructions of each suspension, a pin is present on both the

ends. These pins connect the suspension between wheel shaft cover and

chassis. Body. Nitrogen gas is used in suspensions.

4.1 INTRODUCTION

Drilling on hole is the most important operation is open cast mine.

There are two types of drilling method.

Wet drilling.

Dry drilling.

At R.S.M.M, Jhaigmar Kotara, dry drilling is used. In this, cutting are

sledged out by compressed air. In this time mine three types of drilling

machines and two compressors are available.

5.1 INTRODUCATION:

The dozer, which is one of the most construction projects, is primarily

a pushing unit. This is multipurpose machine and can perform a number of

operations through specific designs like dozer, push dozer and tree dozer.

Basically a dozer is a pusher blade attached to the front portion. This is the

diesel operated power unit equipped with crawler chains. The pusher blade is

rectangular at the bottom edge, concave shaped and sloped backwards. The

pusher blade can be raised or lowered or lilted through small angles

horizontally by hydraulic arrangement. The bulldozer scrapes up soft and

granular material. It is best suited where pushing with a high force required.

A Dozer is used for following purpose:-

Digging the soil.

Gathering the digged soil.

Gathering the boulders.

Leveling the surface.

Spreading the soil or murrum.

In making path and rods.

CRUSHING PLANT

In R.S.M.M. Ltd. There are two crushing plants:

(a.) Low grade ore crushing plant (LPO)

(b.) High grade ore crushing plant (HGO)

6.1 (a.)Low grade ore crushing plant (LPO)

Low grade ore obtained from open cast mines are feed in this plant.

The ore usually contains 16 – 19% of P2O5. This low percent is

made rich up to 34% of P2O5. adding some ingredients. For

enrichment of ore an IBP plant is installed. In LPO cone crushing

is used & double face jaw crushing are used.

6.2 (b.)High grade ore crushing plant (HGO)

There are two HGO crushing plants –

(1.) Old crushing plant of capacity 120 / tones / hr installed in 1972

(2.) New crushing plant of capacity 180 tone / hr installed in 1992.

From open cast mine we get different percent of P2O5. Rock

phosphate, which is sold in market, should contain at least 34%

P2O5. Rock phosphate obtained from crushing plant usually

contains 31% of P2O5. as it is feed by high grade ore of Jaw crusher

is used in HGO plant.

INDUSTRIAL BENIFACTION PLANT

7.1 INTRODUCTION

Locking to the scare rock phosphate resources in india, RSMML has

put continuous effort for utilization of its low grade ore resources, which are

abundant of at Jhamar Kotara but require benefaction before its utilization by

fertilizer industries as raw material. Intensive research was carried out for ten

year and a brake through in processing technology was achieved when this

LGO was enriched to produce a very high – grade concentrate (+34% P2O5),

rated as equal to or better than any naturally accruing on this technology. From

reserves conservation point for processing of 4.25 LT of low – grade ore per

annum. RSMML plants to enhance the beneficiation to 0.85 million tons per

annum of LGO. The company has expanded the beneficiation to 0.85 million

tons per annum of LGO. The company has expanded the plant capacity to

3000MT per day.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE

The purpose on any mining operation is to produce

useful mineral efficiency safety and profitably and always to reach for

efficient more portable method by suitable qualified and skilled person and

properly design system. To achieve the highest level of efficiency of the

system in health environment under safer working condition. It is necessary to

provide suitable and adequate training facilities. In JKT R.P. mines there is a

well equipped and most modern vocational training center, unique on region

that with working modals of all the H.E.M.M. used in miens and unparallel.

It is under a training officer holding first

also certificate of competency and having six years of experience in mining

industry, necessary training aids as per state are provided of from time to time.

CONCLUSION

Rajasthan state mines and minerals ltd. Is a leading rock Phosphate

producing mines and it is under taken by govt. of Rajasthan. Rock Phosphate

is mine here and the ore is treated here to provide high grade and low grade

ore.

It has very wide area and has a no. of vehicle for transportation of ore

and other material and also for transportation of man power. It also has large

no. of heavy earth moving equipment and their maintenance shops.

Good relations exists between labor and management few dispute as

strike was not taken place since many years. Through the plants is constructed

as per strike. Planning but some lacuna do remain.

Transportations roads are not very well. The production would suffer

due to sudden break down of some heavy earth moving equipment and witch

take time for preparing. Do quick and mechanic engineers and required proper

and quick maintenance and new automobile change can improve the efficiency

to plant.

Hera I got a good co-operation by the staff and workers at various

shops.
