HAMILTON ELEMENTARYMoline-Coal Valley Community School District, Moline, IL
In autumn 2015, Russell completed work on the award-
winning Hamilton Elementary school. The project consisted
of a 17,075 sf remodel and 60,925 sf addition to the
existing building. The state-of-the-art school features new
classroom / lab spaces, an imaginarium, learning stairs,
administration suite, new gymansium / stage, cafeteria, and
enclosed outdoor play area.

JOHN DEERE MIDDLE SCHOOLMoline-Coal Valley Community School District, Moline, IL
The Moline-Coal Valley Community School District chose
Russell to oversee a 96,000 sf renovation to the existing
four-story John Deere Middle School. We also provided
a 14,000 sf addition including: fitness area with locker
rooms, kitchen and cafeteria, resource center, classrooms,
IT center, and the expansion of the gymnasium.

LOMBARD MIDDLE SCHOOLGalesburg Community School District, Galesburg, IL
Russell’s work on Lombard Middle School marked the first
project in the “Operation Rebuild Achievement” Master
Facilities Plan. The work included renovation of 86,000 sf of
the existing school, adding a new geothermal mechanical
system, electrical system upgrades, new entry lobby
renovation, opening up the second floor to create open
space, remodel of classrooms, music room, art spaces, and
auditorium.

STEELE ELEMENTARYGalesburg Community School District, Galesburg, IL
Russell completed a 47,250 sf renovation and addition to
the existing elementary school. The renovations included
a remodel of classrooms, new gymnasium / multipurpose
space, a new administration area, and new mechanical /
electrical systems. Geothermal heating was selected as a
cost-reduction method for the district. This project is the
second sequence in the “Operation Rebuild Achievement”
Master Facilities Plan.

GALESBURG HIGH SCHOOLGalesburg Community School District, Galesburg, IL
The work on Galesburg High School was completed in two
phases. Phase I included the construction of a new 50,514
sf multi-purpose building consisting of an 1/8 mile track,
two basketball courts, two tennis courts, and attached
two-story fieldhouse. A 2,840-seat stadium with new eight-
lane synthetic track, football / soccer field, scoreboards,
lighting, grandstands, and track and field event areas was
also constructed; along with two new softball fields and
renovations to surrounding area. Phase II was completed
with 160,000 sf roof replacement and masonry restoration
to the 1960s building.

COSTA CATHOLIC ACADEMYGalesburg, IL
Russell worked with Costa Catholic Academy to finalize
the 8,500 sf addition and renovation of their existing
all-masonry school. The finished work resulted in a new
full-service kitchen, technology classroom, the expansion of
multi-purpose room and cafeteria into a new gymnasium,
repurposing of the existing gymnasium into a cafeteria,
and the computer lab / music room relocation.

PERFORMING ARTS CENTERBettendorf Community School District, Bettendorf, IA
Russell was selected by Bettendorf High School to
complete two notable construction projects on their
campus. The first project, Bettendorf High School’s
Performing Arts Center, included the 63,800 sf addition
/ renovation of the existing performing arts center
including 840-seats, entry and media center, and a new
administrative center.

TOUVELLE STADIUMBettendorf Community School District, Bettendorf, IA
Russell was selected by Bettendorf High School to
complete two notable construction projects on their
campus. The TouVelle Stadium project included
improvements to the existing stadium including a synthetic
turf field, track, lighting, new ticket / entry booth, and
concessions / restrooms building.

NEIL ARMSTRONG ELEMENTARYBettendorf Community School District, Bettendorf, IA
Russell completed work on the new 52,300 sf new
K-5 elementary school. The two-level facility includes
classrooms, gymnasium, lunch room, commons (including
stage), parking, playground, administrative offices,
computer laboratory, music and performance room, art
room, and main entry rotunda.

34,450 sf addition and renovation of library space,
classrooms, and restrooms was completed for the 8th
grade classrooms in Bettendorf Middle School.

FILLMORE ELEMENTARYDavenport Community School District, Davenport, IA
Our work on Davenport Community School District’s
Fillmore Elementary included the 52,316 sf renovation
and 12,950 sf addition to the existing school. This resulted
in six new classrooms, renovation and expansion of
current classrooms, a new multi-purpose room, HVAC
improvements, and parking lot expansion.

WOOD INTERMEDIATEDavenport Community School District, Davenport, IA
Alongside Fillmore Elementary, Russell was selected to
complete work on Davenport Community School District’s
Wood Intermediate. This project consisted of the 11,240
sf renovation and addition to the existing school; resulting
in a 9,600 sf gymnasium, cafeteria expansion, remodel of
music rooms, and HVAC upgrades.

DAVENPORT WEST HIGH SCHOOLDavenport Community School District, Davenport, IA
Russell completed a 48,500 sf addition and renovation to
Davenport Community School District’s Davenport West
High School and YMCA. This project consisted of a locker
room remodel, YMCA expansion, gymnasium, racquetball
courts, fitness room, and multipurpose room.

MADISON ELEMENTARYDavenport Community School District, Davenport, IA
Russell partnered with Davenport Community School
District to perform a 9,000 sf renovation and addition to
the existing Madison Elementary. The scope consisted of a
library and computer lab, corridor renovations, new canopy
entrance, new parking lot / bus stop, and new playground.

SUMMIT SCHOOLJohnston School District, Des Moines, IA
Russell worked with Johnston School District to construct a
new 164,000 sf school. This state-of-the-art school features
an eight-lane swimming pool, round library wing, cafeteria
/ auditorium, and gymnasium / stage. The exterior design
of the two-story facility features masonry and steel.

MARTIN LUTHER KING ACADEMYDes Moines Public Schools, Des Moines, IA
Russell was selected to renovate the interior of the 51,100
sf Martin Luther King Academy. The interior improvements
included classroom space, library, restrooms, office space,
nursing area, and hallways.

JAMES VAN ALLEN ELEMENTARYIowa City Community School District, Iowa City, IA
LEED Silver Certified
Russell partnered with the Iowa City School District to
achieve Iowa’s first LEED Silver Certified school in the
state. The project included construction of a new 26,000
sf maintenance facility, 61,000 sf elementary school made
of masonry and steel. The school featured new cafeteria,
gymnasium, and soccer field.

DENKMANN ELEMENTARYRock Island / Milan School District, Rock Island, IL
Russell completed a 5,500 sf addition and renovation
including cafeteria, staff development area, and minor
remodeling for existing main office for Denkmann
Elementary.

44,690 sf new two-story auditorium addition including:
908-seat theater, orchestra area, and stage. 31,414 sf

locker rooms / restrooms.
SILAS WILLARD ELEMENTARYGalesburg CSD, Galesburg, IL
Construction of a 69,249 sf new two-story elementary
school including: 5,640 sf gymnasium, 4,606 sf
multi-purpose building, 20 full-sized classrooms, art
room, music room / stage, administration offices, and
restrooms / maintenance areas.

NORTH SCOTT FITNESS CENTERNorth Scott CSD, Eldridge, IA
This new 26,000 sf facility includes a weight room with
turf area for plyometrics, as well as a multipurpose
space large enough for two basketball courts and
batting cages. We are considering several additional
amenities such as nutrition bar, offices, and restrooms.
