Ryken was diagnosed on July 21, 2010 with a very rare and aggressive brain tumor called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor, or ATRT. He had the tumor removed and was sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where he was placed on an aggressive chemotherapy protocol, called SJYCO7. The chemotherapy was extremely hard on him; after three grueling rounds, it was determined that the protocol was not working. Despite this news, he never quit and we never gave up. We moved on to try a holistic approach in San Antonio, TX. He thrived for the first couple of months, but the cancer was relentless. Ryken earned his angel wings at age 2, on January 13, 2011. Ryken’s bright smile, legendary “fist pumps” and “fish kisses” will live in our hearts forever. His ability to see people for who they are on the inside is his daily challenge for each of us. We miss him every day and appreciate you helping us keep his spirit alive. www.rykenbaileyfoundation.org WEAR ORANGE TO THE OUTING!

Dear Family and Friends,

We are so pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Ryken Bailey Memorial Golf Outing to benefit the Ryken Bailey Foundation. Your contributions make our dream of the Ryken Bailey Foundation possible. Because of your past support, we have been able to donate $20,000 to help other families fighting this disease, as well as to fund an annual scholarship in Ryken’s name! The annual scholarship allows us to keep Ryken’s spirit alive. The student or students must possess the characteristics that shined daily in Ryken. His contagious smile that he wore everywhere, even when we were sure he didn’t feel like smiling. His heartfelt compassion and acceptance of everyone and how effortlessly he showed it. His ability to see people for who they were on the inside, and his desire to never have anyone feel left out, were high on his list. Oh, and who could forget his legendary “fist pumps” and “fish kisses” that everyone came to know and love. We are honored to keep Ryken’s memory alive, and we know he is smiling down on us all and very pleased with the people who have gathered in his memory. Thank you again for your support and love! — The Bailey/Codron Family
