UPCOMING COLLEGE FAIRS
If you are a sophomore or a junior, you will be taking the PSAT on Wednes-day, October 16th. This is the first step along the road of standardized testing that lies ahead. The College Board has advised students that they will receive their score reports electronically in December. In addition to the electronic score report, students will have access to their actual test booklet. This will give them a chance to review the exact exam questions and their answers.
The PSAT is extremely beneficial to students because it provides them with the opportunity to identify their strengths, as well as the areas they may need to improve on.
Guidance counselors are available to meet with students to review their PSAT exam, as well as offer information regarding SAT prep options. The Guidance Department recommends that students take at least one SAT exam during the spring of their junior year, and retake the exam in the fall of senior year. In
addition, juniors should also consider taking the ACT exam in De-cember and/or April. These suggestions are general guidelines and students should speak individually with their counselor to discuss their own unique testing timeline.
** Please note that the PSAT will be administered during the school day for sophomores and juniors only. Freshman
and seniors will not have school during this administration.**
Admissions counselors from several colleges and universities will be visiting St. Dominic High School for "on-site" admissions this fall. On-site admissions will allow our students to meet one-on-one
with college representatives to have their applications reviewed. Application fees will be waived and admissions decisions may be given on the spot, as well as scholarship information. This is a great oppor-
tunity for all! Please see your Guidance Counselor for criteria and to sign up!
