Daily Overview (April 17, 2020) Updated masking recommendations for EHC sites have gone into effect. We continue standardization efforts and monitoring metrics in preparation for the weeks ahead. Safety: For EHC sites, all staff and providers will now be expected to wear a cloth or procedure mask whenever they are in patient care areas, elevators, hallways, and common areas such as lobbies and cafeterias. This will also apply to staff break rooms, control rooms, and in-person meetings where social distancing of 6 feet or more cannot be accommodated. Grady has moved to universal mandatory masking within the Grady facility. We are posting additional signage as reminders to wear masks and to disinfect high touch surfaces. Methods: Standardized dictation templates related to chest imaging in COVID-19 have been deployed to Emory and Grady. We have finalized guidance for use of intravenous contrast for evaluation of pulmonary embolism in suspected COVID-19 infection. CT Chest per pulmonary embolism protocol remains the diagnostic test of choice, even when the eGFR is <30ml min 1.73m2. following our established protocol, this would be discussed with the ordering provider team by radiologist. Equipment: We have deployed units for UV sterilization of N95 masks and have finalized protocols for in-department versus hospital-entity level sterilization. Supplies: Supply levels are holding steady at sufficient levels. Staffing:
