Los Tombos was established as a refugee community by the UN, for those needing a haven from drug wars, political or military unrest that is common in Central and South America. It can be a transient community, children come and go, and so new families often have more urgent needs. Are bicycles the #1 need for Los tombos? Definitely not. Clean water, health issues, and education are all priority. The shared food and witness we provide to the community through home visits and vacation bible school are very important. So why bikes? They provide a sense of safety, accessibility and increased opportunities for both the student and their family. If you can't afford a bike, consider a general bike fund or the bike repair fund. All your gifts are greatly appreciated and very well used. Thank you in advance. Opening Prayer Jeff ThomasAlmighty God, your Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ disciples, hidden in an upper room in Jerusalem. A violent wind and tongues of fire were the symbols of a new thing happening in their lives. Call to Confession I Then Shall Live, Chancel Choir O Lord, Our God, our homes are Thine Forever. We trust to Thee their problems, toil, and care. Their bonds of love no enemy can sever If Thou art always Lord and Master there: Be Thou the center of our least endeavor. Be Thou our guest, our hearts and homes to share. Amen.

Prayer of ConfessionWe aren’t ready, Lord. It is easier for us to hide in the upper rooms of our lives, to let the world go by and not acknowledge your presence. But you have challenged us to come alive again with your love and words of healing mercy. Forgive our hesitant witness and our complacent spirits. Heal our fears and our wounds. Help us to be agents of healing and hope for others. Challenge and inspire us to overcome our feelings of inadequacy and remind us that you have called us beloved and have given us what we need to proclaim your Good News. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
