The land and project phase for this new plant investment which is planned to be built in the Dimitrovgrad region of Bulgaria was completed and pro- duction will start at the end of 2017. The first phase will cover an area of 30,000m 2 of which 23,000m 2 will be covered. The invest- ment decision has attracted great interest by the region's local media and was greeted with great enthusiasm across Bul- garia and appreciated particularly for its environmentalist approach. Mahmut Özlü and Serkan Kuruoğlu, drew atten- tion to the employment opportunities that will be created by the plant investment and also stated that Sa-ba's factory will raise the bar with its production quality. Carrying its bronze award in 2012 forward, Sa-ba proved its rise with this prize, and another good news for Sa-ba came from InoTec's Star Compa- nies Summit. The presentation made by Mahmut Özlü, at the Summit, was a fore- runner of the new award. Then Sa-ba was granted with the Grand Award and Star En- terprise Award. The received prizes have encouraged Sa-ba, to be constantly evolv- ing and to move forward with more confi- dence. Sa-ba received the Ford Otosan Gold Star Award and the InoTec Star Grand Award in its 40 th year. 2017 Teamwork, Working for the future I have started a new social responsibility project with the participation of Sa-ba, who already supported me on various other projects, together with Yamaha Motor Turkey, Globe Scout and a few other motorcycle companies. In this project named “1000 Riders 1000 Kids”, I took pictures of motorcyclists and with the revenue earned, I help children who go to school in villages. Under this project started five months ago, I handed out myself the help that I collected to a total of 317 children in village schools in eight different cities respectively. The project was born a result of the idea of transforming the long motorcycle tours that I had just made for trip purposes into a meaningful initiative. The combination of my love to motorcycles, photography and children makes the project more meaningful to me. In a very short time, without the use of any press and advertis- ing elements, the project has spread to all motorcycle users and rapidly growing like an avalanche. Thanks to this social respon- sibility project, participants are going to have professional photographs taken with motorcycles, as well as enjoy putting a smile on a child's face. The LED plant leader's Accept- ability of Electronic Assemblies (IPC-A-610) train- ing on acceptability criteria for electronic tools is aimed at making employees more conscious of electronics manufacturing and working with zero error. In this 4-day training program, topics such as applicable documents and transport, equip- ment, high voltage, terminal connections, as well as IPC professional training rules and procedures were studied. I have started a new social responsibilityproject with the participation of Sa-ba,who already supported me on variousother projects, together with YamahaMotor Turkey, Globe Scout and a fewother motorcycle companies.

In this project named “1000 Riders 1000Kids”, I took pictures of motorcyclists andwith the revenue earned, I help childrenwho go to school in villages. With the experience of forty years, while enteringthe Ant year within the scope of the Vision 2020, theyear of Bee which was very challenging had alsobeen left behind. When we look at our strategicgoals and key performance results towards the endof 2016, we clearly see that we are approaching theVision 2020 targets with confidence. In addition to the overall success of 2016, we havealso experienced a number of challenges caused bycontinuous improvement and renewal in some ofour key performances. However, by continuously an-alyzing in our business processes the root causes ofthe difficulties we faced, we have achieved to trans-fer and develope our experiences to our businessmanagement systems. We cooperated with both re-gional and international sources and raised our abil-ity and competences to the upper level especiallyon the technical side. In this context, I sincerelythank all of my colleagues, who have worked hardthroughout a difficult year both to reach our maingoals and to improve our business processes and allthe business partners who supported us.We celebrate with great pride and joy, the 40th yearof our company which was started to operate in1977 in a small workshop by Mr. Ünal Özlü. In 40years, our company has become a fully equippedfactory in terms of human resources and facilitiesthanks to the global vision and targets maintainedby the second generation and it will crown this cel-ebration by commissioning the factory in Bulgarianext year. In this important year, our company willrise to a stronger, more determined and more globalplayer level in international competition in the auto-motive industry. Welcoming the Ant year in 2017, I must say that thisyear represents especially team work. You know thatants are committed to teamwork and strong, leader-minded creatures. We will continue to step forwardtogether towards our future goals in our vision mapwith building a bridge between our main factory inTurkey and our factory in Bulgaria by establishing avery good team work like ants. 2016 was not only add high value products toSa-ba, but also left a deep knowledge and know-how to be used both for the 2017 Ant Year, thatis, the working year for the future, and beyond.Acquiring new knowledge and know-how in pro-duction takes a certain time and this process isquite laborious. In a way it is similar to the ex-traction of golden ore. Only a few grams can beobtained from tons of soil and it is only valuedin the hands of those who know their processand value. For this reason, it becomes even moreimportant to use the knowledge acquired afterthis difficult process. As we told that human isour most valuable asset, its ability to use the ac-quired knowledge systematically is the key tothe information we will acquire next. Therefore,proper coding of information, its systematizationand dissemination and continuous improvementmust continue without any interruption in theproduction site and throughout the overall fac-tory. We have to be in a position to be able tocompete constantly in order to survive in ourworld, where competition is increasing everysecond and continuous service and diversity areexpected. For this reason, we had decided to an-alyze our competitors in the machinery andequipment markets in 2016 and make some in-vestments to use them in the Ant Year and in thefuture. Therefore, the machinery, equipment andfurnishing to be used in the Sa-ba Bulgaria fac-tory will be evaluated according to the equip-ment and service performance without makingany distinction between old and new suppliers,and investment decisions will be made. Thus, un-wanted situations stemming from both the phys-ical environment and the environmental factorswill be removed and the knowledge and experi-ence of forty years will be carefully transferredto the new factory.

Trailight, which created a transformation in the sector withtrailer lighting sets, continues to attract the attention ofproducers with its wide product range. Trailight continuesto its market development and started to show up in theIranian market. One of the projects of the Ant Year is to in-crease Trailight sales with fleet channels and the number ofcustomers. Trailight continue to hold the market leader po-sition as its production design has been renewed to thisend.

Sa-ba has signed a project partnership agreement withDelvis GmbH, the leading German company in design,electronics and lighting technology. Founded in 2002 andhaving six engineering and product development centersthroughout Germany, Delvis GmbH is a global brandknown for bringing high standards to design and innova-tive lighting solutions. The subject of the project partnership between Sa-ba andDelvis GmbH, a pioneer in the field of optic and electronicdesign in the automotive lighting sector and has gainedmany international successes with its professional staff, isa projector product developed for an important OEM.

Sa-ba has done its job again in 2016 interms of standardization by receiving acertificate of conformity of 16949, acertificate of conformity of production(COP) for ECE and CCC homologati-ons, an EAC certificate for export toRussia, a certificate of conformity ac-cording to the SA8000 social responsi-bility standard and Reg 10 approvals.

White collar workers working in the of-fice and on production site are conti-nue to work together with blue collarworkers voluntarily in accordance withthe autonomous maintenance appro-ach (TPM), which requires the partici-pation of all workers to productionactivities. Thus, it shows the value givento the employees as a team and thework done.

News from the Production LineProject Partnership with DelvisThe breakthroughs Sa-ba madein the last year will increase itsproductivity in 2017.

Development and innovation studies re-lated to the injection process havestarted to be carried out under the su-pervision of the German LüdenscheidMaterial Institute, which is known as aglobal expert in the field. Engel in plasticinjection machines and Cemas in plasticvibration welding have become new sup-pliers and the capacity increased. Ma-chinery and service performances of allnew and old suppliers will be decisivefactors for the selection of machinery inSa-ba Bulgaria as well.

Development of fog lamps for FordKuga vehicles has begun and its intro-duction is expected with excitement.

All ultrasonic and vibration tools and fix-tures of the customers are secured withintelligent shelf system. The third shelfsystem will be in operation as of March2017.

In electronic card production, pinstrings are no longer touched by hand,and its placement is done by the pinstringer machine automatically andmore quickly and in a more stable man-ner. In Sa-ba, conformal coating is nowpossible in electronic card production.ESD protection on electronic cards canbe guaranteed on demand thanks tothis method.

The new design of Skoda Kodiaq, whichwill be released at the end of 2016 andexpected to attract all the attention, isaccompanied by reflex reflectors produ-ced by Sa-ba.

In line with the market demand, trailight lighting sets willhave a lot of new improvements in 2017. On top, REG 10and EAC Russian certificates are now added to the ap-proved certification documents. There will be changes notonly in the documents, but also in many parts as well.

15 core cables will be introduced with the inclusion of a15 pin socket into the 9-pin socket connection systemused instead of the electric distribution box. With the useof these sockets, all the needs of special vehicles will bemet, the ease of installation will be provided and highquality will be ensured.
