On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you’ll need to search for “St Mary’s Catholic Church” (be sure you type it in just that way and make sure you’re selecting the St. Mary’s in Clinton, MD) for us to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. They will remember your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation. Thank you for your support!

2017 Diocesan 2nd Collection (Archdiocese of Washington)

June 24 & 25 Holy Father (Peter’s Pence)

Eucharistic Adoration:

† Adoration is in Our Lady’s Chapel after Mass (Approx. 9:00 a.m.) until benediction at 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, and Wednesday, and7:00p.m. Thursday.

† We need to be sure to have adorers the whole time the Lord is exposed. At least two people at a time would be ideal.

† Save Eucharistic Adoration through your commitment to be in the presence of the Lord for a full hour of adoration.

† We cannot provide this devotion without your participation.

† Please contact Lydia Vicente, at (301) 292-0527 x 103, to sign up for an hour. We especially need adorers to commit to every Tuesday: 11:30-12:30p.m., to every Wednesday: 3:00-4:00 p.m. or to every Thursday: 11:00-12:00 p.m. Thank you.

The purpose of the Peter's Pence Collection is to provide the Holy Father with the financial means to respond to those who are suffering as a result of war, oppression, natural disaster, and disease. The Peter's Pence Collection has raised nearly $190 million to support our suffering brothers and sisters around the globe. Thank you for standing in solidarity with the Holy See through your generosity. Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in faith who are facing adversity. The Peter's Pence Collection derives its name from an ancient custom. In ninth-century England. King Alfred the Great collected money, a "pence," from landowners as financial support for the Pope. Today, the Peter's Pence Collection supports the Pope's philanthropy by giving the Holy Father the means to provide emergency assistance to those in need because of natural disaster, war, oppression, and disease.

Eucharistic Holy Hour In Thanksgiving to God—

Thursday, June 15, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in Our Lady’s Chapel. Come and join your fellow parishioners in prayer for the intentions of the Ordinandi, before the Blessed Sacrament . Unite with

parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Washington, as we anticipate the Ordination of our Priests on Saturday, June 17! “Every vocation, every path to which Christ calls us, ultimately leads to fulfillment and happiness, because it leads to God, to sharing in God’s own life.”—Pope St. John Paul II “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Mt 9:37-38. Please visit adw.org/dcpriest for the complete listing of parish Holy Hours throughout the Archdiocese.

Please note that calendar dates and campus spaces are on a first come, first served basis.

Check the “Church & School Events" Calendar and the "Hall Only" Calendar on our webpage, (the address is on the front page of this bulletin), to get the latest dates and spaces that are open. These calendars will start to fill up as calendars are received and approved by Father Baer. It is a good rule of thumb to check the calendars for updates throughout the year.

STARTING JULY 1ST, 2017, THE SATURDAY VIGIL MASS WLL MOVE TO 4:00 P.M. Confessions will move to 3:00 p.m. Please

spread the word.

First Saturday Masses—Saturday, July 1st will be the last First Saturday Mass offered.

I am working on a project to celebrate the Sacrament of Matrimony. I would like to invite all married couples at our parish, widows and widowers, too, to submit photos of their church wedding. The photos should be accompanied by the names of the couple, the wedding date, and the name of the church where they were married. Ideal format for the photos would be scanned as pdf, but I'd take hard copies of photos, photocopies of photos, photos of photos (jpg), or we could even arrange, long-term, to come to people's houses and scan the photos. Photos scanned as pdf can be sent to me via email, [email protected]. If the file size is large (>5MB), uploading photos to Google Drive would be good. Photos could also be dropped off at the Parish Office. Anyone needing assistance with scanning photos can call me: 301-283-0167. Thank you. Paola Addamiano-Carts.

As we bid a fond farewell to our 8th graders, who graduated this past Friday, we ask God’s many blessings be upon them as they leave St. Mary’s Piscataway and transition into their

next stage of life: high school.

Heavenly Father, surround those who have graduated with your grace. Bless them with hope so that they move into the future with eager and open hearts. Help them to put the knowledge, skills, and insights gained through their education to use for the good of all mankind. Inspire them to believe in the goodness of life, even when faced with challenges and difficulties. As they

commence with their lives, may they grow ever more grateful and wise. All of this we ask in the name of Jesus, your beloved Son. Amen.

Thank You for your generosity toward the repair of our AC units in the Parish Hall and Nina’s big doghouse across from the Main Church. We covered the cost of $10,000.00 in an admittedly spontaneous appeal. I am humbled unto speechlessness! The Spirit of “grateful coolness in the heat” came through at Pentecost, as did so many of you. Thanks again.

JUNE 11TH, 2017 MOST HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY

http://www.loyolapress.com/our-catholic-faith/liturgical-year/sunday-connection

This Sunday, as the Easter season has ended, we are invited to learn about God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This Sunday we celebrate the Holy Trinity, three Persons in one God. We celebrate the Solemnity of Trinity Sunday to rejoice that God chooses to interact with us in different, loving ways. Because of God’s great love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus, to save the world. Jesus, in turn, sent the Holy Spirit so that our faith in God and his love would be strengthened. The nurturing experiences of family life also help us to understand and have faith in God’s love. What are some of the ways in which your family experiences God’s great love? Think about symbols, pictures, and words to show how you have seen God at work in your family life and in our history. What different words would you use to describe the different persons in the Trinity? Think about each Person of the Holy Trinity and think of a list of adjectives that describes each Person. Have each member of the family share their three lists. Were there adjectives that appeared on all three lists? Which descriptive words to the Persons of the Trinity have in common? If your family has words in common, circle those words. How does this show us about how the Persons of the Trinity are different? How are they alike? Read aloud the Gospel for this Sunday, John 3:16-18. This Sunday’s Gospel talks about why and how God acts. We come to know who God is by what God does for us. What does the Gospel tell us about what God does for us and why? The Holy Spirit is given to us so that we might believe that God loves us and wants to give us eternal life. The Holy Trinity is a way to talk about how we experience God’s love for us. Conclude by saying together:

God is love, and he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him.

Thank you, God for Your gift of love.

Glory Be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,

world without end. Amen.
