We are once again preparing the annual tradition of honoring those couples in our Archdiocese who will be celebrating five, twenty-five and fifty years of Christian marriage in the year 2018. These anniversary liturgies will be celebrated by Cardinal Joseph Tobin in the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark as follows:

April 29, 2018 3:00 PM 5th & 25th Anniversary years

May 6, 2018, 3:00 PM 50th Anniversary (All counties)

It is our desire that every couple in the Archdiocese deserving of such recognition be present at the

appropriate liturgy. The presence of a large number of couples will give favorable witness to the strength and

stability of Christian marriage in today's society. Please register in person at the rectory or by calling

973-226-0221.

LENTEN CONTRIBUTIONS Once again your donations to our Lenten dona-tions were over the top. Thank you seems to be inadequate words. Many organizations and our own families were the beneficiaries of your gen-erosity. Just to name a few organizations; Eva’s Village in Patterson, St. Peter’s Orphanage in Denville, Several Sources in Ramsey, St. Catherine’s in Caldwell and Little Sisters of the Poor, in Totowa.

May you and your families have a joy filled Easter Season.

Thank you from the Social Concerns team.

Dear Parishioner,

Through the outward sign of carrying palm branches we welcome the holiest of weeks, just as the crowds welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem amidst cries of praise. These same branches will later be burned and become the ashes we will place on our foreheads next Ash Wednesday. With this, we see the link between triumph and sacrifice; we cannot have the one without

the other. Over the last forty days we have dedicated our-selves to works of mercy, to fasting, to prayer. Some of us have been triumphant in our efforts while some of us have been less than successful. But as we begin Holy Week we no longer look to ourselves but rather we shift our attention to Him who through His sacri-fice brings redemption to the human race. Let us then immerse ourselves in the Passion, Death and Resurrec-tion of our Divine Redeemer. Let us be with him as he washes the feet of his disciples on Holy Thursday; let

us be with Mary and John at the feet of the Cross on Good Friday; and let us go down with Mary Magda-

lene to visit the tomb on that first day of the week and with her hear the Good News of the Angel, “He has been raised, he is not here.”

In Christ,

Fr. Juan Jose

DO YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES A DAY?

DO YOU WORRY ABOUT

OUR WORLD TODAY?

We would like to invite you to become part of the

LIVING ROSARY. This activity was started at Saint Aloysius Parish a number of years ago as a means of joining our prayers together to pray for peace in our country and for all our special intentions. It is also in response to people’s needs for greater spiritual growth. At this time we have several teams of 5 members each participating in our living rosary. It is a power house of prayer!

This activity may be taken on by anyone. Families can participate, the home bound can become part of the Living Rosary; persons on their way to work can

join also. There are no meetings to attend.

What is necessary to become part of the Living Rosary is a commitment to say one decade of the Rosary each day. You then become a member of a team who together says the entire rosary each day. It is said for the intentions of those members comprising the Living Rosary and for the specific and special intentions of our parish. It can be done at home, in the car, on the train, and any time of your day.

The Rosary has been used for centuries for world peace, against the heresy of the times, during the Nazi occupation of Poland and at many other times. This is a simple devotion, parish oriented, that demands little of its members and produces great spiritual results.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the LIVING ROSARY. Please fill out the form below and put it in the collection basket, drop it off at the rectory or the parish center, or call Dee Taylor at 973-226-0209 x 32. We will then contact you to coordinate the groups and mysteries of the Rosary.

I am interested in becoming a member of the Living Rosary: Name _____________________________________ Phone #____________________________________
