———CALENDAR OF THE WEEK———

Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
On behalf of the staffs of St. Ambrose and Our
Lady of Good Counsel Parishes, I would like to wish
you a very Merry Christmas. It is a pleasure through-
out the year to serve you in your spiritual needs, as
well as to see the flowering of your baptismal call in
the service you give to your parish and your brothers
and sisters in the wider community. May you and
your family experience the tender love of God which
is the heart of the Christmas message, that God so
loved the world that he sent his Only Begotten Son,
not to condemn the world, but so that the world might
be saved through Him.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank all
who make our Christmas celebrations so beautiful.
The time and effort put in by our music ministries is
noticed and appreciated. And thanks to all who took
time or donated money to make our sanctuaries and
churches so beautiful and festive.
May God bless you all, and a very Merry
Christmas once again!
Fr. Michael Galuppi

in the second reading. How is God calling you to do His
will? He may be inviting you to think about the priesthood,
deaconate, brotherhood or sisterhood? If you think one of
these might be for you, contact 315-470-1468.
Our Savior is Born for all. We must pro-
claim this not only in words, but by our en-
tire life, giving the world a witness of unit-
ed, open communities where fraternity and
forgiveness reign, along with acceptance
and mutual service, truth, justice and love.

Christmas gift cards are available at the entrances of
OLGC for donations to “our” girls in Uganda. Each card
states a donation has been given in honor of your loved
one. Select a card and drop donation in an envelope
marked “UGANDA MISSION” in the OLGC collection
basket. If your donation is in check form, BE SURE TO
MARK “UGANDAN MISSION” on the memo line or it
will not be included in the Uganda collection. It’s perfect
for the person you can’t think what to buy, and your dona-
tion will make a tremendous difference in the lives of these
girls!

Advent Wreath prayer for Week 4 Dec. 22 & 23: Love
Dear Jesus, may the light of your love always shine in
our hearts. As Christmas draws closer, we marvel at
your great love for us. Let your love transform every
aspect of our lives and touch everyone we encounter.
Our hearts are open to you, Jesus. Amen.
(Prayer is from DynamicCatholic.com)
Merry Christmas!
Christmas is one of the most im-
portant days of the Church year,
second only to Easter itself. It is the
feast of the incarnation, the feast of
God becoming flesh (the Latin "in carne" means
"enfleshment").
The liturgical season of Christmas begins with the vig-
il Masses on Christmas Eve and concludes on the Feast
of the Baptism of the Lord. During this season, we cel-
ebrate the birth of Christ into our world and into our
hearts, and reflect on the gift of salvation that is born
with him…including the fact that he was born to die
for us. (Taken from the USCCB website)

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE from
the Office of Family Life Education (A
Hope Appeal Agency)
Mary was excited about her first pregnancy
and rushed to tell her cousin. Sadly children are often seen as
a liability, “another mouth to feed” or an “obstacle to my ca-
reer.” It is said “Christmas is for children.” It is more accu-
rate to say “Christmas is for adults to appreciate the gift of
children!”
